Washing machines - anyone have a Bosch or Miele?

Looking to get a new washing machine very soon and wanting to splash out on a bit more of an expensive one, anyone have a Miele or Bosch and can recommend?

The only thing putting me off Miele is I can't find any silver/graphite models - the fridge freezer is silver and not sure if a white washer would just look daft or out of place right next to it.

Any wisdom appreciated!

My Miele washer/dryer (though I rarely use the dry function - maybe once a week during the wettest three months of the year) gets a lot of use. I’ve had it about 13 years and it has seen us through three newborns, and two bedwetters - I reckon on average we do at least 50 loads a month. Have had to have an engineer out a couple of times but it’s still fine.

I have a miele 13 years and still going strong as compared to my brother in law who is on his 3rd WM in the same time
. So expensive but so worth it.

I have an LG Direct Drive which I love, mainly because it takes 11kg of laundry and that hugely cuts down the number of loads I have to do per week. (I suspect this cuts down on wear and tear on the machine too). It’s lasted 12 years so far and going strong.

I can’t comment on Bosch or Miele w/m but whatever brand you choose, definitely get a large capacity machine!

Thanks everyone your replies have been very insightful. I currently have a washer dryer but debating whether to get one again (crap energy efficiency rating) or just get a washer and maybe a dehumidifier to aid in drying during the winter (no space anywhere for separate dryer, small kitchen). Regardless, I think it'll be a Bosch one as i'm struggling to find a reasonably priced non-white Miele. Maybe next time we need to buy a washing machine we will get a Miele!

We have a Miele washing machine. Had it for 12+ years and it’s on most days. Never had any problems at all with it. It’s white and not a looker at all, but it’s in the utility room so that’s fine. No singing or beeping or anything. I am grateful for it every day!

We also have a Bosch dryer (again, white) which is 12+ years old. The only thing that has ever gone wrong is the handle breaking off. But DH has been able to replace it himself the twice that if has happened (he isn’t hugely handy so it must be fairly easy). I think n it was about £350-400 when we bought it and I think it’s been fantastic value. It’s on every few days.

I’m on my second Bosch in 15 years It’s excellent as was the last one. Particularly like the fact you can stop it and reload the odd sock you’ve dropped on the stairs whilst bringing the washing downstairs The 15 minute wash is a lifesaver when you just need a freshen up wash

I have a Miele. Fifteen year old, used daily. As pp said, only issue has been the seal needing to be replaced, which was straightforward to do.
The big plus is the wool wash, I can wash cashmere etc with no shrinkage.

Our Bosch only lasted 8 years which I thought was a little disappointing. The machine before that was a bog-standard Samsung and we got it second hand, it lasted for us 7 years until we moved house, and the people who moved in used it for another 6 years after that.
We've got a Samsung again now.
