It was inevitable but in this I feel very sorry for his siblings and daughters.

Well done those people who shouted over him. And well done Scotland, fabulous turn out.

Igotjelly · 12/09/2022 17:16

I feel sorry for his daughter and the rest of his family but certainly not for him. He’s an odious creature who should crawl back into whatever hole he came from.

JudithHarper · 12/09/2022 17:20

Andrew is a tosser of the highest order but he is at his mothers funeral. There is a time and place.

FlorettaB · 12/09/2022 17:21

Heckling a funeral procession (or whatever they’re calling this) is never appropriate. Having said that,

’He’s an odious creature who should crawl back into whatever hole he came from.’

He shouldn’t have walked with them. He’s odious and a criminal.

shiningstar2 · 12/09/2022 17:23

What JudithHarper said.

Beetlewings · 12/09/2022 17:23

It's attention seeking behaviour, what did he think was going to happen? That Prince Andrew would step out from HIS MOTHERS FUNERAL say 'you got me bang to rights' and ask to be citizen-arrested by the idiot?

FayeGovan · 12/09/2022 17:23

Agree with everyone here

Dotorri · 12/09/2022 17:24

There is a time and a place, and that was neither.

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 12/09/2022 17:25

I think even odious sex offenders should be allowed to grieve their parents in peace.

He’s vile. But heckling him is worse.

He’s not grieving in peace though, this was a public event for the monarch, not a personal ceremony for his mother. He should absolutely be allowed to grieve in peace but he shouldn’t be allowed to represent the monarchy of this country in any way at all.

This. It's his mothers funeral, he has a right to be involved as her son and it's not the time to heckle him.

Heckling is not worse than sex offending.

It wasn't the time or place, but it was inevitable, and actually I'm surprised it was only the one.

Emmelina · 12/09/2022 17:30

I don’t like the bloke, he’s properly gross. But there’s a time and a place. While he’s walking with his recently mother’s coffin and his grieving children is not appropriate.

BigYellowElephant · 12/09/2022 17:30

Heckling is worse than being a sex offender???? Dear God this country

DingleyDel · 12/09/2022 17:30

Good. He shouldn’t be on show in public or have any public role. I can’t believe the man was arrested for shouting. Why shouldn’t people be able to express how they feel about him. They didn’t mind shouts of god save the king. I hate the way any anti royal sentiment has to be immediately covered up. The RF should know people are disgusted by PA and we won’t accept him.

Nesbo · 12/09/2022 17:31

i can understand people feeling that when it comes to the royals the public rarely gets an opportunity to speak truth to power. If Prince Andrew lives in a bubble of yes-men and supporters does he truly understand what many ordinary people think of him?

At the moment he is usually hidden away, or he moves in rarefied circles that most people would never have access to. It doesn’t seem at all surprising that when he does make a rare appearance in public some people will want to grab that opportunity - no matter how much of a breach of etiquette it might seem.

If you consider his behaviour over many years to have been one long act of disrespect to his mother and her beliefs, then shouting out as he plays the pious grieving son probably seems minor in comparison.

Saucery · 12/09/2022 17:33

I’m sure he’s not ‘playing at’ being the grieving son Hmm
Man’s a slimeball and a creep, but shouting at him whilst the Queen’s coffin goes past is a stupid thing to do. He’s also not going to have a thunderbolt of clarity that he’s a creep just because some Random can’t tell the difference between Appropriate and Inappropriate.

Perfect28 · 12/09/2022 17:33

Hang on, let's just be clear. There is no planet in the universe where heckling is worse than paedophilia.

But he can’t grieve in private, his mother was the Queen so everything is done in public. He doesn’t have much choice in that sense.

Arnaquer · 12/09/2022 17:35

I'm not surprised, I was a bit taken aback to see him waving and wafting around earlier as if everything about him has been forgotten. He needs to crawl back under his stone.

Saucery · 12/09/2022 17:35

It must have really stung to be the only one not in ceremonial dress. That’ll do me for now.

I’m fairly certain St Giles has a side door if he felt the need to attend a service. He didn’t need to parade in front of the people. And his choice to do so opens him up to criticism.
