Put the mobile phones away!

Watching poor Charles, a man who has JUST lost his mother, shaking hands of the great unwashed public, many of who had their bloody mobile phones shoved in his face whilst grinning inanely at him, it really made me cringe.

The Protection officer kept telling them to put their phones down and at one point said " put the phones down , just enjoy the moment" but they just bloody kept on. Shouting and jeering. Ugh. Have done decorum people for goodness sake 🤦🏻‍♀️🙄

One poster said they were acting as if they were meeting a celebrity - they are celebrities. Just celebrities to me but that’s by the by. He’s at a public event, grinning, and showing his face just as they are grinning and filming. I find it distasteful but I find being out doing PR distasteful. They’re not at a wake. I’m so over the histrionics over all of this. I liked the queen but my god people need to get a grip lol

@Vapeyvapevape - I know!! It was so cringeworthy I had to turn over!!! I think they need to either have something worthwhile to say or show or dial down the amount of tv coverage. I've had it on all day as have been home alone but they've really started scraping the barrel with some of the interviews with random people, some of whom are far from eloquent (not a criticism btw as am sure I'd be quite tongue tied if I were on tv). I just couldn't deal with that woman saying "I'm so happy" - wtf😮

They look like twats with their phones stuck in his face. I think some people are just oblivious to how stupid they look.

I was in Waitrose last year and a soap character was shopping. People just wouldn’t leave them alone, every time they posed for a selfie another person asked them something else. The poor guy couldn’t move with people tugging at him and asking him to do things.

They’re interviewing some of the people who are outside the palaces supposedly paying respects and trust me those interviews are far worse than mobile phones! ( and I agree whole heartedly that all those mobile phones in the kings face are disrespectful )

Awful. I had to switch it off. The man has just lost his mother. I’m no royalist but the cheering was also so disrespectful to the Queen. Camilla looked as if she didn’t want to be there and I can’t say I blame her. Difficult balance for the Palace PR machine to strike but I think they got it wrong here. I shall switch back on to hear the 6pm statement.
