The bruising on her hands looks like the type my mum has when she had a canula in her hand.

old people can get them without that. Their skin and blood vessels just get fragile.

I know the Queen is fairly diminutive in stature. It really struck me though how tall Liz Truss looked next to her.

Is Truss particularly tall?

Hey @MarshaMelrose , I didn't cheat on my spouse while they having treatment for cancer, I didn't give my mistress thousands of pounds of public money, I didn't lie to The Queen, to Parliament and to the people of the UK, I didn't say "let the bodies pile high" as my strategy for tackling a pandemic.
But I did swear on Mumsnet. And for that I am not sorry.

Why does she need her handbag in her own drawing room?
Is it for the signalling?

Reminded me of my gran, she always had her handbag over her arm even if she got up to go to the loo the handbag had to go too. My mum reckoned she had her post office book in there and didn't want granddad to see how much she had saved. Might not be the same reason for the Queen.

They've announced the Privy Council meeting has been postponed as the Queen has been advised to rest after her busy day yesterday. I thought yes I'd need a rest after dealing with Johnson and Truss.

The queen has turned up into a proper adorable lady. She needs to be having her feet up with a blanket on while giving orders!

She's made of strong stuff though. I bet she's got the measure of Liz Truss better than most.

The Queen looks so frail I wouldn't be surprised if we woke one morning to an announcement that she had passed away. To look at her I think she may have Osteoporosis, she looks kind of hunched over.

Those who say the quern hasn't worked hard its not conpariosn to stacking shelves in tesco etc
But she is always on duty and at 96 is still working
They have and used to have busy schedules , their life's are not their own and the privileges come with lots of responsibilities
I would rather have my measley bank balance rather than theirs if i meant I had to live my life under a microscope and meet and be polite to people I don't like or maybe don't agree with
I have no care on whether we do or don't have a royal family as it won't impact me either way
But I am grown yo enough to acknowledge its not all fun and games and they don't sot around drinking tea all day

I think she is looking incredibly frail, even more than she was a few months ago at the Jubilee celebrations in June.
She's looking very hunched but is that nor normal for people in their mid 90s.

Liz is wearing heals and seems quite tall and closer to the camera which might add to HMQ looking smaller.

I can't help wonder who is holidaying at Balmoral with her?

She has a fire lit in early September. She has cannula bruising on her hand. Her skin is waxen. She is a very old lady coming to the end of her life. After her fairly recent visit to Ireland, I decided to like her.

Thank fuck that creep, Johnson, isn't her last PM. Probably Truss will be.
Then we can have a conversation about abolishing the monarchy. We need a non- executive elected President like they have in Ireland, India, Germany and Israel.

I think the Cambridges have taken on Adelaide Cottage as a temporary stop before they move full time into Windsor Castle.

I doubt that. It's likely there will be provision for levels of care and procedures including some normally delivered in clinical settings, but they really won't have everything.
