Rudest encounter with a celeb I've ever experienced

Not that I've had many!

But Christian Bale was in London 'itsu' a few months back.

He was buying something but I'd just picked it out of the chilled section. I saw he went to reach out for it at the same time so offered it to him, as I liked something else anyway

His response? 'You've touched it. Why would I want it now?'

I was really shocked at how rude he was!

No, it's not obvious what pp "clearly" meant. Lots of people have said they have no idea who he is and wouldn't recognise him in the street.

“Go watch some films!”

Really?? As I said in my previous post, I don’t have the Netflix/ Sky things nor do I visit the cinema (don’t like the excessive noise, constant eating, ludicrous cost, etc)) I also get up very early so don’t see a lot of evening tv, and I have large dogs who need exercising in my ‘down’ time.
I have plenty of other activities, but films are not one of them… so why the ‘go watch some films’ comment, as if I’m somewhat missing out?
Not everyone likes the same thing, that’s the joy of life!
Last cinema film I saw was “Stuart Little 2” with DS around 1994😁 I fell asleep!

I love a trip to Stratford. I particularly love it when groups of fed up teenagers are marched in to see their GCSE play and how they are totally enthralled and can't stop talking about how wonderful it was when they are on their way out.

I'd heard of Christian Bale, would probably have said he's an actor but wouldn't know him if I fell over him.

Gordon Brown: charming and very polite
Steve Coogan: grumpy and impatient( was gutted as I love Alan Patridge)
Cate Blanchett: lovely and friendly and absolute stunning. A real star and humble with it.
Alex Kapranos from the group Franz Ferdinand : sarcastic and snappy to staff. Acted very much like "don't you know who I am?" ( No we don't!)

I've met Patrick Stewart quite a few times. He's very boring IRL but I've not known him be rude. However, I find it hard to have any respect for the type of man who repeatedly trades in his wife for a younger model over the course of their lifetime (not that I've ever mentioned that to him, it just colours the way I think of him.)

Christian Bale is disappointing - I love him in The Prestige, although he is usurped by David Bowie playing Nikola Tesla 😌

It must indeed to hard to be on all the time. I was well know in small circles for a while long ago and I was aware people were always looking at me. I got called out for poor behaviour (etiquette at a wedding, not being rude to anyone ) in a paper because someone thought it would be fun gossip. The gossip was always wrong. These articles happened four or five times. Really annoying to feel like you're being watched. I became hyper private. I definitely wasn't courting celebrity.

The Sarah Jessica Parker one surprises me as they holiday in Donegal a lot and they supposedly love them in Donegal.

PSA: not knowing who a celebrity is isn't a badge of honour and googling their name is always quicker and more informative than asking who they are on forum.

Never met Patrick Stewart or seen anything he’s been in but I always remember the clip of him accepting an award and saying he could see James Corden’s belly from the back of the room. Found it quite strange. Can’t stand James either, his Reddit AMA was hilarious.

Many years ago my late DM was riding through our remote Devon village when she got held up by some filming. Whilst she was waiting, a little bloke she did not know came up to her and said, "I suppose you want my autograph",

It was Ronnie Corbett, filming for "Charley Farley & Piggy Malone" for The Two Ronnies. Everyone in the village said he was a complete knob, but that Ronnie Barker was lovely.

If you already had the item and he wanted the same thing , why would you offer him yours if there was another one on the shelf ? If it wasn’t the last one I’d think it abit odd Someone offering me theres ?

When I was about 13 I saw a group of blue Peter presenters at my local cinema and I went a bit screamy and jumpy in excitement. They kind of ignored me, and totally fair enough! I'd hate to be a celebrity, having to put up with dick heads like young me!

made in Chelsea walked past me, giving me the dirtiest look for no apparent reason. It was bizarre. He saw me coming, fixates his eyes on my face and continued to stare with such disgust in his eyes until I passed him completely, he was doing the side eye dirty look for as long as possible . He made it very obvious he was disgusted by me just being there 🤷🏽‍♀️. This was when Made in Chelsea first started to air. No idea how a 33 year old me had irritated him so much.

My grandmother hated the queen mother all her life, because before she married the future George VI, the QM was really condescending and rude to my gran on many occasions in the 1920s. My gran was a servant so couldn't say anything back, but she always looked like thunder whenever the QM came on the TV. She held a grudge for 70 years 😂.

She’s obnoxious. Liked to throw her weight around. Very entitled and demanding and perceives slight when there’s been none. Will quickly resort to being loud and confrontational, and doesn’t have a problem throwing personal insults (I witnessed this but it wasn’t directed at me, for what it’s worth). From what I know from others who have had dealings with her, this was par for the course and has been for years. Got the strong impression that these specific character traits don’t go too well with alcohol.

I had pretty much an identical experience with a Korean political leader at Heathrow.

He was kicking off in Costa because they only had sea salt and Chardonnay vinegar crisps and he wanted Walkers. One of his minders gave him a Wispa instead and he didn't even say thank you.

There was nothing wrong with Bale's on set outburst. He is a perfectionist.
