On the beach, crying, on my birthday

Happy tears. I have been dreading today. DH died six months ago and life has been hard lately but here I am, on a beach watching my fosterling run back and forth through a rock pool. He's always hated water, usually screams on the beach but today he is so happy. He's 2 and has additional needs. To see him so happy is the best gift ever.

Our special needs children do take us by surprise sometimes. But when they do you just want to stay in that moment again. They seem to have the ability to give you something to smile about. Even though they can't communicate with word's.🥰
