Partner in agony.. but won't let me take him to hospital!

Last night at around 7pm, my DP started to get chest pains similar to heartburn. We kept an eye on it, and he took some heartburn relief gaviscon to try to ease the pain (which he said didn't touch it)

Come 9pm and he was doubled over in agony.. he's been up all night, sick every 45 mins / an hour and is white as a sheet, shaking like a leaf and really clammy. His chest is agony he says, and nothing I've tried to give him has eased the pain whatsoever. His back and shoulders are now hurting, too.
I've just woken up to find him lying on the bathroom floor to try to help his back. I've never heard him be sick like he was last night.. and he's almost in tears with his chest.

For context, he had gastric sleeve surgery in February this year, and I'm concerned it could be connected to this? I wanted to take him down to A&E but he insists he doesn't need to.

I'm really concerned..

Ah ok. Well that’s what I was told by the woman running my 3 day first aid course who was previously a paramedic. Don’t know why she told us all that if it’s not true but she went to great pains to point it out several times over the 3 days.

Yeah it's extremely common for MN health or urgent threads to just have an opening post and OP never comes back. Especially in the context of this situation there are two outcomes:

1. The unfortunate case of someone's health deteriorating further and having to deal with hospitals, visiting hours etc. Updating MN would have very low priority.

2. The condition improves and life goes back to normal. Since the emergency for which advice was sought for is now over, people get on with their lives and don't bother checking back on MN.

Woh I came back to a slew of removed posts. Guess I missed something. 😳

The poster has probably prioritised being at the hospital with her partner rather than posting on here.

I agree, must call 999. 3 years ago my husband had exactly the same symptoms.against his wishes I called the surgery where a doctor told me to call 999 straight away. When they arrived his heartbeat was down to 30 per minute.they said if he had left it till his doctors appointment later that day,chances are he would be dead.
