I don’t like alcohol. So all this gin time and wine time flies over my head.

I don’t like pyjamas which is annoying because there are really cute ones out there. I prefer nighties.

I don’t like high end food. Oysters and stuff like that..bleh

Boulez, stockhausen and all other squeaky Gate composers. Yes, I'm sure it's all very clever but it is also unlistenable bollocks so off you fuck.

TitoMojito · 13/08/2022 21:39

I also don’t like alcohol, coffee (or tea really, unless it's ice tea) or driving. I also would add those depressing "original British dramas" - I don’t have the energy to be that miserable 😂

Simplelobsterhat · 13/08/2022 21:39

Also - smart shoes, false nails, fake tan worrying about what your eyebrows or pubic hair look like..
Handbags (or rather knowing anything about fashion / brands of handbags)
Olives, pate and whiskey - but to be fair I think most of them are a bit marmite and loads of adults don't like then.

TwoMonthsOff · 13/08/2022 21:41

@Soubriquet
I love coffee but entirely agree it has a tomcat aroma when you open the packet, south & Central American ones in particular, so glad it isn’t just me that thought that 😭

Simplelobsterhat · 13/08/2022 21:43

Oh yes and running and gadgets

MrsHood · 13/08/2022 21:44

Lndnmummy · 13/08/2022 21:47

Olives and mouldy cheese. Oysters🤢

Iamuhtredsonofuhtred · 13/08/2022 21:48

Massages
gardening (it’s just outdoor housework!)
jazz. It’s shite

ofwarren · 13/08/2022 21:48

MrsMcisaCt · 13/08/2022 21:32

Films that are meant for grown ups. I only like children's films.

Me too!

TortolaParadise · 13/08/2022 21:49

Tea
Coffee
Wine
Beer

YouSoundLovely · 13/08/2022 21:49

Opera. Which in my case is just bizarre. I'm a choral singer (good amateur), I love early music, I adore a good oratorio - but operas leave me cold.

With everyone on the massages/spas/'pampering'. Yuck. Ditto make up and clothes shopping.

I'm in Germany and fail the German-adulting test on two counts - dislike saunas and can't get excited in the least about asparagus (which everyone goes collectively mad over annually).

hamsterchump · 13/08/2022 21:49

Spas, saunas, steam rooms etc, they all resemble underground torture chambers with cruel and unusual punishments around every corner to me.

OldTinHat · 13/08/2022 21:50

Coffee or any hot drink 🤢 I'm 50!

Suetwo · 13/08/2022 21:50

Paris. It may have been the centre of art and civilisation 100 years ago, but today it’s a dirty, crowded let-down.

Hot sunshine. I love the sun, but god I loathe the heat. These last few weeks have been torture.

Career/Work. I have never had a job I enjoyed. I bitterly resent working, and regard every second of it as a waste of my (short) life. I can’t bear people who bang on about their career. And I hate people who “love their job”. Unless you are in the SAS or working on a cure for cancer, I don’t want to know.

Children. Noisy, smelly, selfish and boring. They ruin relationships. Frankly, I’m amazed any marriage survives kids.

Youth/pop culture. It’s 99% worthless garbage.

puddingandsun · 13/08/2022 21:51

Other adults.

Alcohol, make up, high heels, driving, sunbathing, shopping centres, gyms.

Andante57 · 13/08/2022 21:54

Boulez, stockhausen and all other squeaky Gate composers. Yes, I'm sure it's all very clever but it is also unlistenable bollocks so off you fuck.

This. Somehow atonal composition got the upper hand and for a long time no composer could write anything else if they wanted to be taken seriously.
I wonder how many people actually like it, as opposed to pretending they like it.
No wonder people want to go to Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals.

Happymum12345 · 13/08/2022 21:54

Tea, coffee and posh restaurants.

Franklyfrost · 13/08/2022 21:57

Opera. Eating out anywhere with more than one course. Small talk. Also, all adult clothes. I want to wear some hurt-your-eyes-print polarn-o-pyret-style romper all day every day with matching booties because all adult clothes are uncomfortable and either bland or sexy.

TastesLikeStrawberries · 13/08/2022 21:58

ofwarren · 13/08/2022 20:04

Oh god, loads of things!

Dinner parties
Weddings
Christenings
Nights out "with the girls"
Working
Shopping
Driving
Wearing formal clothes

Apart from driving, this is me Grin

MiniPumpkin · 13/08/2022 21:58

Being able to choose what to have for dinner. Can someone just put it in front of me please

ThomasinaGallico · 13/08/2022 22:00

Modern art and contemporary music. I like representational paintings and tunes that I can hum and pick out on the piano.

’Erotic’ literature/art. It’s about as arousing as a day at the pig farm.

ofwarren · 13/08/2022 22:01

Eating formally at the table
Much prefer it on my knee with none of the etiquette that goes with eating a meal.
Give me a fork and I'm good.

tortoiseshellsub · 13/08/2022 22:03

Rollercoasters! I just hate them. Infact anything theme park just doesn't do it for me. I usually hang out by the ice cream shops 🤣 weirdly tho I love the atmosphere so I'm always happy to go
