Would you go to A&E for this? Bit worried.

To cut a long story short I've been suffering with intense head pressure for nearly two weeks. I wouldn't call it a headache exactly, more like a really bad feeling of pressure, it's been pretty much constant the entire time but not painful enough to stop me from sleeping. I am also getting weird sensations down my left side, tingling and the skin feels weirdly numb. This afternoon one of my eyes has turned a bit bloodshot for no apparent reason.
I've been holding off seeing the GP as I am in the process of switching but the pressure is getting really quite bad now so I don't really know what to do. I really don't want to go to A&E on a Friday to just be bumped around until Monday or to waste anyone's time in case it's something trivial, but the eye thing has freaked me out a bit.

You can filter by OP on the app - it's the funnel shaped thing top right.

Ignore all the idiots telling you it's not an emergency and go to a ande a neighbour of mine had this and without scaring you she needed urgent medical attention. It came on very quickly xxx

I totally agree with you. I shake my head in disbelief at some of these comments. What the OP describes sounds serious. It could be nothing, of course. But why to wait and see if it goes away?! She did the right thing by going. That’s what the A&E is there for - not for minor cuts but for accidents and for things that get worse and escalate, like in her case. Hope you’re on the mend soon, OP.

Glad the scan was clear. The head pressure and pins and needles, numbness, nerve sensation can all be anxiety induced so you may find that they ease now.
glad you’re ok.

Roo4u · 24/07/2022 10:01

Opticians can also help with this

Sounds like IIH (too much fluid on brain) go to A&E and see a neurologist.

Or your other suggestion of eating too much chocolate ? 🙄🙄

Beebatron · 24/07/2022 11:45

Would a ct scan have been able to see if I had intercranial hypertension? I have an appt with the Opticians tomorrow so hopefully that will all be ok as well but nothing has really improved since Friday and the headache is still there Sad.

Yes, eating too much chocolate made me over weight and caused the IIH. It wasn’t directly caused by eating too much chocolate.

Did you have an epidural? Go to A&E. I has has epidural on the 15th and by the 17th couldn't move my head. They had punctured my spinal membrane and I had to have a spinal tap and a blood tap and literally within 4 hours i could walk around and look after my baby again. I had to stay in hospital for three days but they let me stay on the post natal ward so i could keep baby with me x

Beebatron · 24/07/2022 16:23

No, no epidural and I barely eat chocolate though I am overweight which I imagine doesn't help. Its really quite bad again today so thoroughly fed up!

It’s really difficult to judge the depth to epidural space and know how far to put the needle in. Not far enough and it doesn’t work. Too far you hit the spinal cord. A few years back I was involved in researching factors that predicted depth to epidural space. I remember that race was a predictor.

same could be said about having had covid infection in the past. tbh that's more likely than a vaccine side effect.

It’s good to question, to research and cross- check different sources, to listen to different experts in their fields - doctors, scientists, to check, to hesitate, to think for ourselves...remember, science is never settled. It is always evolving. Not all top doctors and scientists agree. Always good to do our own research. 🙏😌💕

Do you have any qualifications in science? Do you have access to a lab?

Many many people experienced long term side effects from the vaccines. I was helping someone for a while who did. The stories on the support groups are horrific. It seems to have been hushed up compared to the long term side effects of covid though. People are living everyday with severe symptoms and taking their own lives because of them. Don’t under estimate the side effects from covid vaccines.

No I don’t, which is exactly why I hesitate, research and discern. I don’t find it easily to just blindly trust. Like a mother - would a mother just blindly trust what someone tells her is best for her child? I asked many a question of the experts over the last couple of years and my questions were not answered. They could not provide the reassuring information that I required in order to make an informed choice. That raised big red flags for me as did many other factors.

Good for you looking into things.

But I totally question your ability around the depth of your research or interpretation.

No it wasn't from covid, the consultant we saw specifically diagnosed vaccine damage. This suggests to me it was from the vaccine, not covid. Of course I'm not medically qualified but still...

Well that's vaccine then .

Hi OP the opticians should pick up on intercranial pressure if it's a thing
Should not definitely will.
