Would you go to A&E for this? Bit worried.

To cut a long story short I've been suffering with intense head pressure for nearly two weeks. I wouldn't call it a headache exactly, more like a really bad feeling of pressure, it's been pretty much constant the entire time but not painful enough to stop me from sleeping. I am also getting weird sensations down my left side, tingling and the skin feels weirdly numb. This afternoon one of my eyes has turned a bit bloodshot for no apparent reason.
I've been holding off seeing the GP as I am in the process of switching but the pressure is getting really quite bad now so I don't really know what to do. I really don't want to go to A&E on a Friday to just be bumped around until Monday or to waste anyone's time in case it's something trivial, but the eye thing has freaked me out a bit.

Is there a possibility you have had exposure to a tick? This could be Lymes disease

3luckystars · 22/07/2022 19:29

I hope you are alright and am SO glad you are gone to the hospital. All the best.

BlackAndPinkNose · 22/07/2022 19:29

Glad you are being seen OP - fingers crossed it is nothing serious and they are just taking sensible precautions

Thank you all. The Dr wanted me to have a CT scan and just waiting for the results now. In a bit of a panic if I'm honest. No one with me as DH has the kids.

It's good they decided to do one, bribing worse than not knowing. Hoping it's nothing serious and you get an answer soon.

girlmom21 · 22/07/2022 19:36

Fingers crossed for a fast turnaround x

Lovelystuff · 22/07/2022 19:39

Hope you are ok OP, these things are worrying! Hopefully it’s nothing serious. My sister suffers from cluster headaches and they cause blood shot eye and intense pain and a whole range of things. It’s terrible for her but not life threatening xx

MyrtlethePurpleTurtle · 22/07/2022 19:39

Never really understand why with symptoms such as OP is describing, people are dicking around with oh it’s not A&E, it’s maybe an opticians or GP appointment when it’s so clearly A&E

Getintoyou · 22/07/2022 19:40

Remember you are not by yourself, we are all with you

Aahhhh that's so nice.

MyrtlethePurpleTurtle · 22/07/2022 19:40

Sorry - have now RTFT and see OP has gone to A&E. OP - I hope the CT scan rules out certain things

Panda8383 · 22/07/2022 19:42

Hope it’s nothing to worry about OP,

Eggmcmuffin · 22/07/2022 19:45

Hoping everything is OK OP, sure it will be but you're in the best place.

NoGoodUsernamee · 22/07/2022 19:47

I’ve had left hand side numbness/tingling for weeks, all over body cramps, blurred vision. 3x doctors and 1x a&e visit… Clear bloods, clear CT scan. Waiting for MRI now… don’t panic. Tumour is highly unlikely.

SergeiL · 22/07/2022 19:49

Oh goodness. Hope you get the results soon.

RichardOsmansXRaySpecs · 22/07/2022 19:51

Hope it's nothing, OP Flowers

Goawayangryman · 22/07/2022 19:54

People really need to up their game on what symptoms are red flags.

Left arm pain with sensation changes, a bloodshot eye and head pressure? Hell yes to A&E.

OP I hope you are ok and it's nothing serious. The NHS is brilliant at sorting out truly urgent stuff. Even now when there are so many pressures on resources.

SobranieCocktail · 22/07/2022 19:54

Good luck OP, glad you're at A&E, and hope anything serious is ruled out quickly.

NoGoodUsernamee · 22/07/2022 19:57

@Goawayangryman are you a doctor?

BillyBobBear · 22/07/2022 19:59

Wishing you well OP Flowers

Justhereforaibu1 · 22/07/2022 19:59

All the best OP hope you're not waiting too long x

Blueskythinking123 · 22/07/2022 20:00

My DS had similar symptoms (he is 22) and had a seizure. He had a swelling on the right front cortex of his brain. Please seek medical advice.

Goawayangryman · 22/07/2022 20:05

@NoGoodUsernamee nope. But changes in sensation and unusual pressure in that constrained space that is a skull definitely needs investigation. In my relative's case the diagnosis was something very treatable and no long-lasting effects, but it was a bloody good job they had got to the hospital when they did.
