Fluke things that you're oddly proud of?

Thread inspired by a trip to the Health Centre today.

I have good veins and each time I donate blood or have to take a blood test, the HCP always say "Oooh!" and their eyes light up when they take a look at my arm. Every time, I a experience a little glow at this "praise" 😆

Anyone else have things that they aren't necessarily responsible for, that they take some sense of pride in?

Another redhead here, with just a few grey hairs. I think most gingers gradually grow paler as the greys gradually appear. Lots of people think i dye it, but the only things I dye are my almost invisible, thin eyebrows.

I’ve been told on several occasions that I have beautiful ovaries! I’m also hyper Mobile and resistant to anaesthetic. I can write with both hands too!

I’ve got good strong nails, they grow into a nice oval shape and rarely or crack.
Good skin, not one stretch mark.
Good hair.
But the thing I’m most proud of are my good manners. I’ve been complimented on them a fair few times. I even thank Alexa.

Oh and I’ve been told by a physiotherapist that I have perfect posture. (Preens)

I'm jealous of those of you with good veins. I had blood tests last week and needed a special nurse and a double appointment 😂

I'm not really proud of this as such but I'm confused by it I suppose. I have studied literature to quite a high level with good results and have often not even read the book / script / sonnet or whatever. I just reel off some bullshit and seem to do ok. I got B at 2nd year of Uni and then dropped it to focus on linguistics which was not at all able to be bullshitted (by me at least!!) and was ridiculously hard!

I can read exceptionally fast. It's actually because my eyes don't focus perfectly, so my brain has learned to take in two images that are more widely spaced than most people's, but it's really useful.

I am ambidextrous. I can't write with both hands because I never practised, but I use both hands equally and got a perfectly fine A at Art GCSE drawing with my left hand.

In terms of weird ones to be proud of, though - my wrists and ankles are tiny. For some reason, my grannie and my godmother always made a huge deal of this so I grew up thinking it was really special. Obviously I now know they must have thought I was a chicken-boned weakling, but I can't shake an ingrained sense of pride whenever someone notices.

I also enjoy my double-jointed thumbs, which I can bend back flat against my wrist.

Can you have better than 20/20 vision? I thought 20/20 was perfect vision.

No, 20/20 is average.

Many years ago, while working as a lab technician, I proved Hans Krebs wrong. Was quite chuffed.

I was at a restaurant once with a group of friends and the waiter taking our order dropped some cutlery. Instinctively shot my hand out (without properly turning my head to look) and caught the cutlery mid-air as it dropped. Not sure who was more surprised - me or the waiter - but it's easily the coolest thing I've ever done low bar and I am 100% confident I couldn't recreate it if I tried Grin

My nails are a great shape, big nail beds and a lovely natural oval. Get them from my mum. The rest of me is a frizzy sweaty shit show 😅

Me too

My Pilates teacher says I do very good lunges.

Also, perfect blood pressure.

A couple of Chrdtmses ago I was in charge of "veggie option and sides". That was actually 14 dishes! We arrived at DM's exactly on time with sll14 dishes cooked and warm in insulated tubs. I am a project manager, but that was my best project delivery!

The last time I had a smear the nurse commented that I had a strong pelvic floor. Not one I can put on my CV but I’ll take any compliment!
