Fluke things that you're oddly proud of?

Thread inspired by a trip to the Health Centre today.

I have good veins and each time I donate blood or have to take a blood test, the HCP always say "Oooh!" and their eyes light up when they take a look at my arm. Every time, I a experience a little glow at this "praise" 😆

Anyone else have things that they aren't necessarily responsible for, that they take some sense of pride in?

Passing my driving test 11 years ago - practical and Theory. Honestly I was getting about 15 out of 50 in the practice tests, went in and got 48/50?!

Driving instructor tried to talk me out of driving test even on the morning of but I was pregnant and determined to pass - passed will 11 minors 🤣

Pretty sure both times were flukes but il take it

I have been used as an examination for med students. I’m also used for trainee imaging techs as I don’t move when being scanned. Nice to be good at something.

I'm 61 and still not really going grey. I do colour my hair but I never get the hard colour/grey line when it grows out - I just notice a few more individual grey hairs. I guess it will happen eventually but meanwhile I'm quite pleased 🙂

I could have written this and I'm 63. I only colour mine with the semi permanent 24 wash dyes once or twice a year (for parties/christmas usually).

Physio told me that I had very string shoulders. I do very little upper body exercise.

I have blood that can be given to people with sickle cell anaemia. Nothing to do with the blood group, but I have very tiny cells or something. It's definitely to do with the physics or my blood rather than the chemistry.

Last Christmas Day I was allocated "veggie option, veggies and sides" for Christmas dinner. In a different house. At exactly the allocated hour I arrived with 16 fudges, home cooked and warm. DM (who'd put the meat in the oven) and DSis (bought some wine, but no soft drinks) we're like "what are you doing here, we didn't think you'd be here for ages....". I am a project manager.... it took all my best PM skills, but total fluke that I knocked or the door literally as the clock was striking 1.

I have "perfect" teeth.
I have a "lovely, pink cervix"

I too have a lovely cervix. I’m beginning to wonder if they tell us all that.

I also have not yet gone grey, and everyone is shocked that I don’t dye my hair, it’s just a natural chestnut.

Despite being overweight my blood pressure is always fine

Also I am more flexible than my doctor expected. I can sit on the floor with the soles of my feet together and put my knees on the ground.

I am hyper mobile so it looks like I am really good at yoga and stretching but it’s really very little effort on my part.

Oh and I am oddly proud that my birth date is the same back to front and upside down.

I have exceptional blood taking veins and get complimented on them every time I go for blood tests.
I'm also 42 (soon to be 43) with no cavities or fillings. Proud of this every time I go to my dentist and she praises me for my quality teeth. Given my lack of dental hygiene (I brush twice a day if that, but no flossing or other stuff), I'm strangely proud of my knashers!

I had a textbook labour (6 hours in total) when DD was born.

When DD was about 6 months old I bumped into the midwife who delivered her when both of our DC were on the same ward at the local children's hospital. She remembered me because she had so few deliveries that were so straightforward. I had been racking my brains when I saw her because I couldn't remember how I knew her.

I had a hearing test at 60 and was told I have better hearing than many 20 year olds.

Audiologist said I had the cleanest ears she’s ever seen - I was gutted, really wanted to have them syringed, but also secretly proud

I’ve got totally shite rubbish hair but everyone admires the colour and hairdressers always ask what I used to get the result.

Absolutely nothing - just the more prolonged and careless exposure to harsh pool chemicals, sea water and cheap body-wash - the better really.

A dancer told me I have beautiful feet. I've never taken a dance class in my life, can't help wondering what could've been 🤔

8/8/88?

I get compliments on my eyes (huge and very dark brown), my hair when it's in its natural wavy form (read: when I've not bothered to brush it) and my eyebrows for their lovely shape.

I was a teen in the 90s and one girl tried to pick on me by saying that I plucked my eyebrows to achieve the shape. I only ever pluck the ones that make them meet in the middle occasionally and even then it's only when I notice.

DHs is his blood type. O Rh negative. Apparently it means that everyone can have his but he can only receive his type. He felt very special when they commented at the blood van.

I have perfect pitch. I exclusively use it to sing Disney songs loudly at my dc while doing silly dances.

I have really low fingernail beds which makes my nails look long even when they aren’t. Beauty places always comment in how great they are.

I'm naturally immune to chicken pox. Feel proud because I catch every cold going so at least my body manages to fight something off
