'They didn't try and murder him for no reason did they?'

What, they tried to murder him because he was still KGB, still working for them. Fascinating theory Grin

Did you know BJ got a BJ while his wife was battling cancer oh and BJ has been pissed and partying for the last 7 days whilst the whole country is in a national emergency because it's sunny. Honestly the sooner the charlatan goes the better, how very dare he not sort the weather out.

What a load of bollocks. He's been sacked from the job, why the hell does he need this. It was a jolly, with a photoshopped photo of him at the end. He ain't a Maverick that's for sure!

He really is taking the piss 😂

the80sweregreat · 18/07/2022 13:56

It's not a case of controlling the weather, but , ( taking climate change out of this equation for a minute)someone decided a meeting was advisable to discuss procedures for such unprecedented temperatures in the next few days and BJ didn't turn up. It shows a basic lack of care , even though we all agree that he can't make it rain or be a bit cooler and he is only a caretaker PM at the moment
If you didn't show up at work or attend a meeting you didn't want to go to , there would be consequences, but ministers and PMs can do what they like and still be paid handsomely for it. That is the difference here.

Roussette · 18/07/2022 14:08

Why do you make stuff up? No idea why. I didn't say that did I

(When I say no idea why, it's probably because of your beyond idiotic defence of your Dear Leader BJ and knowing there's hardly anyone left to agree with you)

I'm quite amazed at the Tory membership stats. What happens with the 50 to 64 year olds that the percentage is 19%?
I think it's just that it's a narrower age band than 25-49 (14 years as opposed to 24 years) so naturally there will be fewer people in it.

Why do that do it way to confuse people like me?! Grin

Cornettoninja · 18/07/2022 14:16

Where’s your line @JaniieJones? Seriously, because at the moment I don’t think there’s anything BJ could do that you wouldn’t just brush off. It’s not just a healthy admiration you know.

Please don't say this because it always triggers... what about Sir Beer or there's no credible opposition. Or Keith put a pringles tube in the rubbish and didn't recycle it, how dare he.

'What do you think about none of the remaining candidates wanting him in their Cabinet'

Well they would say that wouldn't they. How funny if he ended up home secretary. It'd be smelling salts around on here.

Its not the refusal, thats pretty standard for ex PM's... its the total silence, they really do not want to be associated with him.

Though apart from Tugenhat they all very much are, as i'm sure Labour will mention a 1000 times over the next 2 years.

How Truss is there after her Cheese speech is anyone's guess, no one will let that one go.....

Roussette · 18/07/2022 14:28

How Truss is there after her Cheese speech is anyone's guess, no one will let that one go.....

I preferred "PORK MARKETS" and "APPLES" (both of which were met with watery faint applause)

To be fair to her, at last night's debate, she actually said herself she isn't very slick at this. I'm glad she realises to be honest, because it is baaaaaad.

So now we have no government, nobody in charge of anything, nobody turning up for meetings, and BJ is stilly partying. What a shit show. And the sequel leading roll is looking to be even worse. VIVA LA REVOLUTION!

Cornettoninja · 18/07/2022 14:41

Don’t worry @Roussette, Janiiieee always ignores me now. She thinks I’m obsessed with her. Which is ironic I suppose.

the80sweregreat · 18/07/2022 14:44

Dh is a conservative voter and even he is finding hard to defend any of them lately , he does try though.
He thinks Richi Sunak will get it.
Even he grimaced when I went through them;
Sunak : millionaire backstabbing rule breaker. Wife doesn't pay tax in uk as he knows the loopholes. Might be a turn off at next GE. Especially to Boris Johnson supporters.
Truss: Trying to be the next Mrs T.
Mordaunt , already caught out for embellishing the truth. Seems to want to be liked too much ?
Tom T : obsessed with the army a bit too much. Seems a decent one so probably won't win.
Kemi Badenoch , too right wing. Wants to draw up the drawbridge on others , education cut backs more scary than the others with her policies.

I'm still puzzled about where the south west has gone. Went into town to get a few things and parked outside the conservative club so pretty sure there are members down here.

'Seriously, because at the moment I don’t think there’s anything BJ could do that you wouldn’t just brush off. It’s not just a healthy admiration you know.'

Hmm. I think the ridiculously expensive wall paper in a rented flat funded by donors wasn't wise and getting an expensive interior designer in a bit stupid, it was always going to come out. I also think he should have bollocked the civil servants for getting pissed and I think he should've been wiser with Cummings.

Thankfully though we had him for the pandemic or else the alternative would've been catastrophic. Often said, but he got the big things right and we all know it.

I agree the current candidates are woeful, the 'rebels' have shot themselves in the foot. Who knows, I may vote Labour next time. If they ever get a credible leader and deputy that is and SirBeer and Ange isn't it.

<P.s it's not 'admiration' 'the hots' or 'fangirling' i just dont get whipped into a frenzy by the msm and repeat their crap>

FFS, tax payers money spent on a jolly for a caretaker?

Adam Bienkov

Boris Johnson's spokesman is unable to say what the Prime Minister will be doing instead of chairing today's emergency COBRA meeting on the heatwave.

Asked why Boris Johnson was able to find the time for a joyride on an RAF jet but was unable to find the time to attend any of the COBRA meetings on the heatwave, his spokesman says that it is important for the PM to have a "firsthand" experience of how fighter pilots work."

The PM does have a specific role in directing RAF action in worst case scenarios. And so it's important that he is aware of some of these capabilities," he says.

I think it would be a great idea if the PM also got first-hand experience of how people on minimum wage work. Any job, as long as it's hard work and allows the employee to just about scrape by (if they're lucky) or wonder how on earth they're going to stay warm and fed next winter.

I heard this interview on World at One. I was gobsmacked.

John Armitage, a hedge fund billionaire who has given more than £3m to the Conservative party in the past, delivered a withering assessment of the state of the party in an interview with Radio 4’s World at One. He was also scathing about all but one of the leadership candidates. Here are his quotes

On the Conservative party generally

In the Westminster bubble most MPs and most commentators don’t really realise what deep shit the Conservatives are in. I think people in the country are a) fed up with a regime that tolerated a dishonourable and bad prime minister for a long time; b) Brexit has actually happened and the debate has moved on to doing something about it and making it good; c) I think most people are fed up with what I would call boosterism, or you could call it policy by press release, where nothing happens. If the Conservatives get a leader who will actually do something, and isn’t guided by opinion polls above all, yes, it might make a difference.

In other news Badenocke has conveniently changed her mind on Net Zero - so much for conviction and integrity.

Roussette · 18/07/2022 15:28

but he got the big things right

yawn. Listen to Christ Bryant on last weeks Question Time in his answer about BJ getting the big things right. He nailed it.

'Getting the big things right' is the new Tory slogan. Doesn't man to say it's true.

However, thank you Janiie for the most reasonable post I've seen from you for yonks. (Sorry I use the word 'yonks' too, hope it doesn't offend lol. Oh, and 'lol' !)

And if you say you haven't got the hots for BJ I'll believe you. But I am surprised given his new photoshopped Top Gun pic. Grin

Often said but not often explained, so do tell us why you think this and it would be good if you can back it up with evidence, facts, stats.

Yes to this. Mordaunt actually said she was going to 'Re-Do' Brexit. What the fuck does that mean? What's been happening these last few years?

The party enabled BJ. Now it's time to pay the price for that.

Ah, interesting.

I’m particularly interested in Cummings. How do you mean wiser? DC’s strengths and weakness blur a bit. BJ wouldn’t have manoeuvred into the position he did without DC so do you mean that he should have never held him in position at all or that he should have been able to manage him better?

itsgettingweird · 18/07/2022 15:43

So £400 for every house that Sunak owns. Do you think that's remotely sensible?

At the time they announced this he explained it's easier to do a blanket policy. He said he'll donate his to charity.

Whether we agree or not with the blanket policy at least he's recognised it benefits even the wealthy. And I don't usually stand up for Tory's

Blossomtoes · 18/07/2022 15:48

Nor do I but I found myself defending Mordaunt yesterday. It’s a funny old world, isn’t it? 😂
