@Northumberlander we used to live north of the Tyne and have friends in Northumberland. We'd have bought up there but prices were barmy we were looking!

The thing I like least about where I am in weardale is how far it feels to the coast.

Northumberlander · 21/07/2022 06:55

Thanks for the welcome! Happy to add to the north of the Tyne numbers!

I spend a lot of time in Newcastle. Absolutely love it there and wish we could move. My son attends a Sen school in Northumberland which means if we moved to Newcastle, he wouldn't be allowed to stay at his school. One day....

We don't often travel any further south than Gateshead as even that's a 50 minute drive away. Where are most of you from?

@RampantIvy I live about 25 minutes north of Morpeth.

RampantIvy · 21/07/2022 07:30

You can't be far from where DH grew up @Northumberlander. He is from one of the villages on the A697.

Someaddedsugar · 21/07/2022 07:32

Welcome to everyone new! Pleased you found us @Northumberlander Smile.

We have family up around Ledbury. Love that part of the world.

I'm in County Durham. "North east" is such a big area. But get me over the border into N. Yorks and that's definitely the edge and I'm "home" as I'm from Leeds originally 🥰

MsMarvellous · 21/07/2022 07:50

Lesbury!

PickAChew · 21/07/2022 08:31

I'm one of the many here in and close to Durham. DH grew up in East Durham.

QuestionableMouse · 21/07/2022 09:05

Close enough to Hartlepool to be called a Poolie. Live in one of the outlying villages (though weirdly not the one I grew up in!)

QuestionableMouse · 21/07/2022 17:07

Just tested positive for Covid again! Totally fed up with the whole issue now! ☹️

OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea · 21/07/2022 18:38

Ah MsMarvellous dh is from Leeds too. I'm from Hull. County Durham is definitely home now though.

Welcome newcomers to the thread. Lots of NE love.

Just 1 more day of school for my Big and Middle tomorrow. Small finished today. My brain would quite like to check out of work too but sadly have another 3 weeks to work before my leave.

MsMarvellous · 21/07/2022 19:11

Can't beat being from Yorkshire and living in the NE. Best of both 🥰

Hellocatshome · 21/07/2022 19:32

Another Yorkshire lass living in the North East. Really is the best of both worlds although according to my Yorkshire friends I now talk too fast 🤣

AlviarinAesSedai · 21/07/2022 20:35

Hope Covid isn’t too bad QuestionableMouse.
I unfortunately am Durham born and bred.

QuestionableMouse · 21/07/2022 21:17

Thank you! I'm so tired and have a horrible sore throat ☹️

Someaddedsugar · 22/07/2022 06:31

Hope you're ok @QuestionableMouse!

I'm from South Yorkshire originally, then Darlington and now Durham. Hopefully we'll find a house soon in either Durham or Darlington.

@QQuestionableMouse hope you feel better soon. We have covid in the house too. Managed to avoid it for 2 years and now have had it twice in less than 3 months.

It's ds1 birthday tomorrow and he doesn't know what he wants to do. What's everyone else doing this weekend?

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/07/2022 20:08

Just getting over Covid here
we are trying broom house farm tomorrow

Someaddedsugar · 22/07/2022 20:15

Hope you're a bit better @QuestionableMouse.

@Northumberlander hope your DS has a lovely birthday!

Enjoy BHF @lifelongfrugaleer!

We've had a light appear on the car dash that will dictate our weekend 😣. I'm really hoping it's nothing serious.

OP posts:
QuestionableMouse · 22/07/2022 20:27

I'm just so damn tired. Had to sit down half way up the stairs 😕

What does the light look like?

twistyizzy · 22/07/2022 20:41

Another Yorkshire lass who has made the NE her home for 26 years now. Met husband at Newcastle uni and just never went back down south. I love the NE although I will always be a Yorkshire girl at heart.

AlviarinAesSedai · 22/07/2022 20:42

Best case would be tyre 🛞 pressure light.
When I had Covid I barely had the energy to go to bathroom. Hope you are soon over the worst.

Someaddedsugar · 22/07/2022 20:45

The book says it's the emission control light - we assumed it was the engine management light but not according to the book. We did have the air con re-done earlier in the week though so wondering if the two are linked. It would be nice if they were so that at least there would be an answer!

Someaddedsugar · 22/07/2022 20:45

Welcome @twistyizzy 👋🏻

OP posts:
Someaddedsugar · 22/07/2022 20:46

@QuestionableMouse and @AlviarinAesSedai the lack of energy/breathlessness doesn't sound nice at all!

OP posts:
QuestionableMouse · 22/07/2022 20:48

It's fricking grim ☹️☹️☹️ I've also got a horrible sore throat too.
