Ben Wallace has said he won't resign but recommends colleagues to use party rules on change of leadership if that's what they want.

It was said that a resignation letter was being prepared but johnson didnt want to sign it. Kay Burley now saying he has agrees to sign it.

I admire Ben Wallace for not resigning. He's made his views clear but is carrying on with the job. We do not need to be without a Defence Minister in post.

Thats the convention.

Im not convinced that will now happen.

The problem is the manner this has all been done.

He has all these ministers to replace in post and he's lost a huge amount of trust.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is now an insistance that Raab is caretaker.

I suspect the delay now in terms of him not being on the No10 doorstep is about negotiating what is going to happen in the interim.

The later it gets into the day, the more I think this negotiation is going on behind the scenes over what happens between now and the autumn.
