Favourite Beatles song

This is off the back of a baby name thread. Someone said prudence and a poster said dear prudence is their favourite Beatles song. I've had it on repeat since, it's not one I'd listened to much before.

I'd normally say here there and everywhere is my favourite.

While my guitar gently weeps
Hey Bulldog

Love hey Bulldog😀

Tbh I never tire of Beatles songs

I'm not keen on some of the sitar stuff on Revolver

RoyKent · 27/06/2022 20:52

Man, they are without rivals. What did John Lennon say about Elvis? Before Elvis there was nothing-they same could be said about The Beatles.

That version is beautiful.

PestoPasghetti · 27/06/2022 20:56

We can work it out

Followed by Hard day's night

Funkyslippers · 27/06/2022 20:57

I really need to discover more Beatles songs. I only know the famous ones. My faves are Here Comes The Sun and Something.

Whenever I ask Alexa to play an artist they always play the obvious songs whereas if like to hear ones I've never heard before! I have to skip about 20!

That version is beautiful.

I absolutely love it.

Whereswallywonka · 27/06/2022 21:03

How did they write so many wonderful songs?

Working class background and no musical training, just growing and learning together.

I can’t choose, there are so many I love. No one else comes close to the beauty and genius

woodhill · 27/06/2022 21:04

I like Rocky Racoon & cry baby cry, mother nature's son, savoy truffle

Don't like

Why don't you do it in the road

White album is sublime

OliveHenry · 27/06/2022 21:06

Howard Goodall did a really good programme about them, showing just how clever and complex their music was .

I'd definitely recommend watching it.

Come Together, Martha my Dear, Back in the USSR. Late-ish period for me.

TwoBigNoisyBoys · 27/06/2022 21:08

You’ve Got To Hide Your Love Away ❤️but I actually prefer the version on the Anthology 2 album to the version on Help!

It’s perfection 🥰

HRTQueen · 27/06/2022 21:08

Something

its my favourite song of all time

A day in the life
Here, there and everywhere

A Day in the Life and Norwegian Wood if I really had to choose. Ask me tomorrow and it would probably change though!

LovinglifeAF · 27/06/2022 21:11

So many I can’t really pick just one

but for today I’ll say Norwegian Wood

LondonWolf · 27/06/2022 21:11

Impossible to answer but I do have a soft spot for the scuzzy version of Revolution and the St Pepper reprise. Those drums!
My regular earworms seem to be She's a woman, Every little thing, For no one.

dropthevipers · 27/06/2022 21:13

Fool on the Hill. Back in the USSR.

@Funkyslippers , a magical treasure trove awaits you. Go out and discover it and enjoy every moment. Don’t listen to anyone who tells you that the Beatles were overrated or that George was the real genius in the group. George was great, he wrote some fine songs, but John and Paul wrote the songbook of all time.
