What's in your dream full/cooked breakfast?

For me

Fried or grilled mushrooms. Never tinned
A fried egg
Potato scone
Crispy bacon
A square sausage might be nice
A piece of black pudding or haggis

With tea but I wouldn't say no to coffee instead. And preferably also a small glass of fruit juice.

On occasion I like some fried cubes of potato with rosemary and sometimes tofu scramble if I want a vegetarian breakfast.

Also it must be served for lunch or dinner as I don't eat breakfast.

What's on yours?

Bacon, egg, mushrooms, tomatoes, brown sauce, bread and butter, tea, then toast and marmalade. Also partial to a breakfast of fresh bread, olives, cheese, tomatoes cucumber, ham etc. Either of these preferable to boring cereal but that's quick and easy (overnight oats).

I had an amazing breakfast in The Ivy a few weeks ago - dark caraway toast, avocado and roasted tomatoes on top with the most unusual bitter herb on top and pomegranate seeds.

I don't normally like hot food for breakfast but this was yum.

I love a good breakfast and it's good at any time of the day. My DH would eat nothing else given the chance 😂

Freud bread done in the sausage fat
Wholemeal toast
Decaff coffee

Not really bothered about fruit juive

No hash browns, baked beans or other abominations

A whole table covered in small bowls of the following things -

Kedgeree, streaky bacon fried until It's crispy, potato scones cooked in frying pan with butter, sausages with apple and caramelised onion, Stokes Bloody Mary Ketchup, boiled eggs with the yellow still soft but the white definitely cooked served in a wicker basket with a tea towel in, tomatoes cooked on the grill with garlic and herbs until they're falling apart, pastries and really good homemade strawberry jam.

Also -

A toast rack with slices of very good quality sourdough, allowed to go a bit cold.
The really expensive but delicious French butter I can't find anymore
An unlimited supply of Lattes with just the right amount of foam
A glass of iced orange juice

And an unlimited amount of time and for none of this to have any calories.

At an all you can eat buffet place in Florida added to it would also be pancakes with cherries and whipped cream and corned beef hash to go with the breakfast

Drinks a glass of fresh orange (not the watered down shite most hotels give you) and a good quality latte or cappuccino

I'm not vegan or even vegetarian but I had the most amazing vegan breakfast recently that I'd take over a traditional full English any day. It had mushrooms sautéed with kale, beans in a slightly spicy tomato sauce, rosemary fried potatoes and roasted cherry tomatoes on the vine, with lovely crusty bread to mop everything up. A slice or two of grilled halloumi would have made it perfection but it was excellent regardless.

I do also love a morning roll with tattie scone, fried egg and black pudding mind you.

morning roll & bottomless tea

There are two versions.

1. Poached egg, sausage (spicy, cured, preferably with pistachio), mushrooms, tomatoes, olives, ewes' milk cheese with a (mythical) GF bread with marjoram/rosemary and sea salt.
2. Probably equally apocryphal, a GF eggs florentine.

Both come with a load of hot black coffee, ice cold water and freshly squeezed citrus (orange, lime).

Smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, brown toast and butter, lemon to squeeze on the salmon and maybe a very well grilled tomato. Americano with hot milk on the side and a tsp of sugar.

Fried bread, haggis, fried tomato, hush browns.

Omelette Arnold Bennett with a handful of watercress and a glass of cold freshly squeezed orange juice, after kick starting the day with a strong black coffee. Delicious!

Latin - homemade arepa (cornbread) filled with cheese and coffee or arepa with refried beans, egg or chorizo and fried plantain

Irish potato cakes topped with fried egg

Lightly toasted sourdough rubbed with garlic and topped with chopped tomato, sea salt and olive oil (adopted this years ago from Spanish friends)

Warm focaccia

And very nice coffee
