What does insulin actually smell like?
Why does a cats fur always smell clean and fresh yet their breath is unutterably disgusting? 😆😆
My favourite smell is candy floss and frying donuts 🍩 😋

The cats fur is a good one. Their saliva contains deodorant, I kid you not. Hard to believe when they lick their bums, too!

MintyGreenDreams · 26/06/2022 18:14

Beer Breath.
Diesel.
New carpet

Beachmumma · 26/06/2022 18:16

I know it's gross but manure ...like cow manure.i spent a lot of time on my aunt and uncles farm growing up and my god that smell now brings back such wonderful feelings. absolutely love that countryside smell so much.

Badger1970 · 26/06/2022 18:20

Boiled linseed
Tar (I had whooping cough as a child and have a really strong memory of my Dad boiling up tar in the garden shed for me to inhale).

Anonnnnnnm · 26/06/2022 18:21

Freshly scratched bum fingers

Lulu1919 · 26/06/2022 18:27

Old fashioned disinfectant

DarlingDarwin · 26/06/2022 18:28

A damp sponge

MammaWeasel · 26/06/2022 18:31

Brand new bicycle tyres

sunglassesonthetable · 26/06/2022 18:37

the very cold smell of an air conditioned continental supermarket when you come in from the heat. Sometimes my Lidl has that smell.

PupInAPram · 26/06/2022 18:39

Not sure it exists anymore but Pears coaltar shampoo, cigarette smoke even though I've never smoked and petrol.
Can't believe no-one has said their own farts 😂

FatFilledTrottyPuss · 26/06/2022 18:48

BO. I used to love burying my nose in the armpits of my dads jumpers if he left them lying around when I was little. Now I sometimes go without deodorant at the weekend and love the smell of my own sweaty armpits 😆

thebigOfinallyhappened · 26/06/2022 19:05

Germoline, petrol, nail polish, paint, firelighters

Tangfastic91 · 26/06/2022 19:08

Industrial freezers (supermarket aisles or big walk ins if you've ever worked retail). If you know you know, it's impossible to describe.

Soubriquet · 26/06/2022 19:17

Firelighters!!!!

How could I forget them.

Insulin smells like the cleanest hospital disinfectant. It's the cleanest smell I've ever smelt.

SouperNoodle · 26/06/2022 19:39

My dogs ears 😅

SouperNoodle · 26/06/2022 19:42

I would never admit this to a soul but the smell of DH's armpits. He showers regularly and is never ever sweaty (he has never smelled of BO in all the years we've been together) so at the end of the day when we're in bed and I'm cuddled into him and my head is on his shoulder, his pits smell like deodorant/cologne and this amazing 'warm man' smell.
I'd never ever tell him that I love getting a good whiff 😂😂😂🙈

blueshoes · 26/06/2022 19:42

I dislike cigarette smoke but love the smell of cigars. The smell makes me feel enveloped and safe.

They do say you can be “addicted” the smell of someone you love

Silage and the body smell of cattle.

polkapip · 26/06/2022 20:31

Ooh yes. The Lidl smell as you walk in. Like holiday supermarkets
And bleach. All the bleach. Yum.
I sadly mourn the passing of Karvol foo

TheNoodlesIncident · 26/06/2022 20:34

My cat's fur smells peppery, is that another thing she's getting wrong? (She can't purr, she thinks she is but we call it her "whiffle".)

IPA
The plastic of swim rings and armbands in the seventies, it was slightly rubbery in texture
Deep litter (most things horse-related tbf)
Gloss paint
Very old foxed books (I have one from the 1700s, it's divine in its mustiness!)

I also love the smell of Swarfega and Yorkshire Flux, for soldering. Also a grey product very like Blu Tak in nature called Arboseal, possibly used in the gas industry for blocking gaps. We had a lot of stuff lying around in our garage from then. I like the smell of soldering too, lovely hot copper pipes!

blueshoes · 26/06/2022 21:28

Woodward's Gripe Water - from my youth

blueshoes · 26/06/2022 22:25

I also like Tiger Balm and Olbas Oil.

sunglassesonthetable · 27/06/2022 00:48

The smell of a certain kind of 70s/80s Doll plastic. Like Tiny Tears. The softer Head part not the body. I never smell that anymore. Is it still there? Just not around dolls much.
