I’ve got a shitty cold and feel like death. Need something fun to watch that doesn’t require any actual brain-cell involvement. We have all the main streaming services and don’t mind chucking in a few quid to rent something. Hit me with your top picks, pleasethankyou!

If you have Prime I have just found Speed on there and put it on. Feel like I'm 13/14 again 😂

I'm watching speed now too!

on which note, I watched Point Break recently. Now that's a movie

I see the OP has got something picked, but Practical Magic is very soothing for me - love an American small town!

Add:

Amazon's and Swallows

It's on Netflix. It's such a lovely film. Centering on kids who spend a summer in the English country side and they find an island in a lake they must defend from 2 girls.. (it feels.like Railway Children.. which is also a great film.)

SomethingNastyInTheBallPool · 25/06/2022 23:20

Is that the very old Swallows and Amazons with Susannah thingy or a new version?

I thoroughly enjoyed Crazy Rich Asians, by the way - every ridiculous minute. DP, not so much.

It's the newer.one I watched. I've not seen the older one.

The new jumanji and jumanji 2 are good for this.

Yes! I've watched them both numerous times but will watch them again next time they're on TV.

chiffchaffchiff · 25/06/2022 23:55

Crazy stupid love is my go-to easy watching film

wellhelloitsme · 25/06/2022 23:59

The Proposal is my go to even though I usually like thrillers!

echt · 26/06/2022 00:09

The Castle.

dropthevipers · 26/06/2022 00:15

Spinal Tap, Freebie and the Bean (just bonkers)

goldfinchonthelawn · 26/06/2022 00:21

Legally Blonde is my flu movie. Hot water bottles, loads of Lemsip and Reece Witherspoon.

goldfinchonthelawn · 26/06/2022 00:22

Love Hard is also fabulous but very Christmassy

FayKnights · 26/06/2022 00:23

The Martian! My go-to every time

MissSharma · 26/06/2022 00:23

Has anyone said The Dig yet? It's lovely, easy watching. I enjoyed it.

I watched Muriel's Wedding for the first time ever recently - how did I get this old and have never seen it?! Love it!

SoosanCarter · 26/06/2022 00:29

Lost in Translation!

savehannah · 26/06/2022 00:38

Martha meet Frank Lawrence and Daniel best romcom ever

Oceanus · 26/06/2022 00:55

They're not on Netflix or HBO but all the Aurora Teagarden Murder Mysteries from Hallmark. I loved the Garage Sale Mysteries too. They're super entertaining but without needing to engage many brain cells!

Lickerz · 26/06/2022 01:04

I know you've watched one now but for next time -

Wrath of Man (with Jason statham) on amazon prime.

Watched it when I had flu at 39 weeks pregnant and ticked all the boxes - easy watching, ridiculous plot (or lack thereof), good fight scenes and Jason Statham.

mackthepony · 26/06/2022 02:25

A walk in the woods.
Fisherman's friends
