It's 24th June - 1976 - and I'm off to the corner shop. I'm buying a can of Jusoda and a mint Cornetto.

What will you have ? Tooth decay and pocket money aren't issues.

Just celebrating finishing my O levels. So I’ll have a can of Tizer and a copy of Jackie!
Arctic roll for afters.
This brings back memories of boiling hot summer and riding on the handlebars of my first ‘proper’ boyfriends bike to go to one of the first Macdonalds that opened

Really wish I kept my Raleigh Chopper which was in pristine condition. Would have been worth a lot of money now

BuntyMcHooves · 24/06/2022 22:23

A Highland toffee bar and some flumps please!

CutesyUserName · 24/06/2022 22:47

I'll have a Twinkle magazine (see if you can get one with the ring in please), an orange Jubbly, some oysters and a mint cracknel. And my mum wants a bottle of Lucozade because my brother's coming down with a cold. Ta very much.

NewbieDivergent · 24/06/2022 22:50

I won't be born for another 10 days but my mum would love a fry's cream bar 🤮🤮

SoMuchToBits · 24/06/2022 22:55

I'm 14 and will have a TopDeck shandy and a copy of Look-In (but only for the Tomorrow People, that's all I look at).

Then I'll probably go to my youth orchestra rehearsal...

Good choice but the toffee will leave you toothless 😱

I can't come I've got to queue at the stand pipe with a bucket because we've run out of water. It's far too hot to queue - the tarmac is melting!

We're camping in Cornwall, and yes, it's very hot.

Belledan1 · 25/06/2022 19:35

Mojos chews please. 2 for half a penny.

Tumbleweed101 · 25/06/2022 19:39

On the date given I was only 3mths old so milk will have done fine 😆

nopuppiesallowed · 30/06/2022 16:09

A small bag of Rainbow Drops, please, a cider apple ice lolly from the ice cream van and a big bowl of strawberry Angel Delight after our Vesta Prawn Curry.

LadyHelenaJustina · 30/06/2022 19:56

Is my copy of Jackie magazine in yet? I’ll have that and some highland toffee please.

x2boys · 30/06/2022 20:41

I'm two so I don't remember much about that Sumner apart from sitting in a yellow bucket filled with water 🤣
Mummy might let me have an ice pop.

MumofSpud · 30/06/2022 21:01

I will pop in and buy my mum her 'ciggies' (I am a small child!)

I still have a copy of a 1976 Twinkle!
I loved Nurse Nancy Smile

NeedToKnow101 · 03/07/2022 10:26

I've got a cold too, so my mum's gone to get me lucozade wrapped in orange cellophane from the chemist.

Gremlinsateit · 03/07/2022 11:10

Despite your kind offer re unlimited pocket money, there is no way we have enough for a cornetto, so it will be watered down cola, frozen in a paper cup, with a spoon, to share with my two sisters, thanks!

Spaghag · 03/07/2022 11:25

I'm 11 months old so possibly a choc ice please.

I'd totally forgotten about these! My school canteen used to do them in the 80s. A standard lunch was a chip butty & a frozen cup.

We live on the edge of the town (became a city in Jubilee year) on a half built new estate with fields all around us. There is no shop for miles and Fine Fare wasn't built until the end of 1977
