I've started a new one. Please join us and share the boring and mundane things happening in your world. It will be calming for all.

Apologies that the prior thread filled up before I could create this one. Hopefully everyone will find it. Lurkers are of course welcome to unlurk.

Thanks very much Plastic Jam is lovely, that's a good idea.

Thanks Half and well done on clearing out the wardrobes.

Lovely picture Lemons and agree 4 A levels is a lot but what DD wanted. She took 12 GCSEs and 1 level 3 this summer, overruling me to take more but she managed it fine.

Hope all goes well for the surgery MissC Is that soon then. Yes will discuss with oncologist anything.

Three Tamoxifen down now, 3651 to go. Taking with food seems to stop the nausea but still feel rubbish on them, hopefully just a transition thing. We are preparing the living room for a new wooden floor. Rabbit has gone to a pet place and Floof will go to a friends tomorrow as we have to put a sticky coating down twice, a liquid damp proof membrane. Hoovered today and moved sofas, booked special collection for old carpet and underlay and have all materials in.

And here is one of the silkies who won't get her bottom in the coop house for overnight. She isn't the most intelligent of the three.

Shit, shit, fuck!!!
Lucking closer and they have found a growth on my pancreas. When I arrvied at my GP for the results, they had already booked my hospital place for Wednesday, 9:30 am. For tests and then whatever.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 30/08/2022 17:40

Sorry, that was not very calm.

MissConductUS · 30/08/2022 17:58

That's fine Prok, no worries. I'm sorry to hear about your scan results. Will they take a biopsy tomorrow?

OP posts:
Silkierabbit · 30/08/2022 18:12

Prok I am so sorry and zero need for calmness. I really hope its benign. I am glad they are testing quickly at least. Sending love and benign results wishes your way.

mathanxiety · 30/08/2022 18:16

Sending a hand hold your way Prok. Hopefully you'll know what's happening soon, one way or another.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 30/08/2022 18:33

Thank you all - I am organizing work handover, getting the bag ready and finishing admin tasks. Luckily the hospital is in almost walking distance.

Miss I am booked in for the 1.9.22 at 9:30. Funnily, this is exact the same day 19 years ago that I started BC treatment.

Lemonsandlemonade · 30/08/2022 19:57

Gosh Prok no need to apologise. Hope you get news very soon.

HelenaJustina · 30/08/2022 20:49

Oh Prok how frightening, will hold you in my prayers.

sproutsandparsnips · 30/08/2022 22:01

Prok will be thinking of you on Thursday xxx

halfpasteleven · 30/08/2022 22:33

Wishing you a negative result Prok.. I really hope all goes well for you on Thursday.

Silkierabbit · 31/08/2022 14:06

Thinking of you Prok and so hoping it will be benign.

Floof has gone to a friends whilst we do the floor. Living room was cleared, cleaned a bit and then DH removed carpet and underlay. DH had originally said it was concrete underneath and we ordered some epoxy liquid dpm to go on it but now he discovered it was actually tar paper and old newspapers. The Economist was mentioned, an 01 phone number and the Sunday Telegraph magazine. And old tarred floorboards.

This then set DH off into much dithering and we need to be finished by the weekend. Thankfully managed to get it back on track and have a floor fitter coming out tomorrow. We have a special collection tomorrow for old carpet, underlay and 3 bags. Floof returns on Friday and rabbit and silkies are booked in until after the weekend but could get them earlier. DS had to be prized out of the living room, he lives on that sofa but sofa, DS and TV have been successfully relocated. Was not easy though sofa was done whilst DS went to bathroom then found DS and sofa cushions back in living room. Then we moved sofa cushions back out and then DS moved the TV and all was fine. It seems its the TV he has separation anxiety from not the living room.

Call with school tomorrow. I cancelled my hospital appointment so can do that and its only a cosmetic thing so not urgent and have moved to 15th when I also go in to discuss surgery. Call with cahms and they have offered DS an autism assessment without him talking or writing and just via us so taking that. I hope school will let him back in to school, opens on 5th. DD is still doing punting job.

DoctorTwo · 31/08/2022 14:45

Blimey Prok, a growth on your pancreas sounds scary. Hope it's benign, should be easily treated if so. Will keep my fingers crossed tomorrow.

The council are supposed to be resurfacing our street starting today, but no high vis sightings yet...

sueelleker · 31/08/2022 15:31

Just came home and could only find one of my dogs! I panicked, because they went out with the dogwalker this morning; and I was just starting to wonder if I should look for a message from them in case she'd hurt herself, when she appeared from the far end of the garden. Panic over!

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 31/08/2022 16:29

Thank you doc, we'll see.
I am just home from clearing my desk and finish some jobs.
I have to write an "übergabe", basically handing my projects over. (Keyboard does not allow me a capital ü today).

Silkie That does sound like a lot of work, but I am glad everybody has been properly moved.

MissConductUS · 31/08/2022 16:57

Good luck tomorrow, Prok. Have they told you what procedure they will be doing?

My covid PCR test came back negative, so I am just waiting for the surgical nurse to call me to do a medication and clinical history review.

Sue, I know that feeling. I've panicked at times looking for the cat on the deck, only to find him lurking under the grill cover or behind the planters.

OP posts:
Lemonsandlemonade · 31/08/2022 18:28

Best of Luck for tomorrow Prok. Sending good vibes.

All the best MissC Hope the procedure goes well.

Oh Sue thinking you have lost a pet is scary.

Have a work meeting tonight. Facing staff who have fabricated things about me . Am dreading it.

HildaTablet · 31/08/2022 20:27

Have just caught up with the thread and seen your post, Prok. Sending you a virtual but supportive hand-hold for tomorrow.

MissConductUS · 31/08/2022 21:22

Lemons, that must be awful. That type of workplace confrontation is the worst.

I was hoping the surgical nurse would ring me today, but I guess it will be tomorrow.

In really boring news, DS has misplaced the spare key fob to the car we let him drive so I'm going to order one from the dealership tomorrow. They are insanely expensive and I have to go in person with the registration paperwork to prove that we own the car, even though the dealership sold it to us and we bring it in regularly for service.

OP posts:
Silkierabbit · 31/08/2022 21:29

Lemons So sorry about that, does not sound a helpful meeting. Hope you got through it OK.

Lemonsandlemonade · 31/08/2022 22:54

Workplace meetings went as expected staff were over nice to me but my feelings towards them have not changed. Management have yet again not followed policies and procedures .

Management want me to bond with my staff and go out with them in my own time. There is no way on this earth I’m going.

Lemonsandlemonade · 31/08/2022 22:56

Miss C it’s awful loosing keys. What a faff.

HildaTablet · 31/08/2022 23:14

That sounds just awful, Lemons, how on earth can they expect it of you? Absolute nonsense. I’m sorry it’s so stressful and upsetting.

MissConductUS · 01/09/2022 16:39

Lemons, I hate socializing with people from work under any circumstances. Just tell them no thanks.

I had my intake call with the surgical nurse. She seemed very friendly and thorough. They'll call this afternoon to confirm my time slot, but it will be in the morning, which is what I was hoping for.

OP posts:
mathanxiety · 02/09/2022 04:16

Hoping your procedure was OK Prok and hoping yours will be too, MissC.

Lemons that sounds awful and really onerous for someone with a small DC. I really don't know why going for drinks with people you're dying to get away from after a long day is considered such a great idea by some managers.
