Glad you have sedation sorted Math

Hope the graduation party planning is going well MissC and nice you will have your DD home soon too.

Glad your cake turned out well Prok

Have a lovely holiday Helena

Hope it was a nice ice cream Plastic

I just did my first radiotherapy so one done, four to go, on Fri, Mon, Tues and Wed. And endocrinology messaged me and asked me to go in for a blood test on Wed and a steroid blood test on 8 September, a dexa suppression test the second one is, first one is cortisol. Radio was very quick and running pretty much on time.

Had parma harm, mozerrella and grapes for lunch and Floof helped me with the parma ham, he eats a lot but is growing rapidly. He was footballing floof again but at a slightly better 10pm to 11pm last night.

DD is working 6 days this week and out with friends the other day. She loves her job and gives her money and keeps her fit so seems good all round.

sproutsandparsnips · 04/08/2022 21:12

Hope the rest of the radiotherapy goes ok Silkie.
Have a lovely holiday Helena.
Hope the graduation party goes well Miss!
DS1 is watering the tomatoes. I am watching the Commonwealth Games on catch up. We are going away on a cruise next week and I am concentrating my efforts on nobody getting Covid.......

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 04/08/2022 21:30

22:28 pm and 32°C indoors, no chance of creating a daught, because there is no wind.
DH loves it - I can hardly cope and wonder (again) why we don't have heat protectors at our windows.

HelenaJustina · 04/08/2022 21:41

I was super productive today, still the bathrooms to do tomorrow before we leave but just done the kitchen and bins. I love coming back to a clean and tidy house!

Prok We had heat like that last week and I can’t handle it either. Hope you get some respite soon!

Where are you cruising sprouts?

MissConductUS · 04/08/2022 23:50

I'm glad your radio therapy went well, Silkie.

Prok, it's really hot here too. Is your new stove electric or natural gas?

Sprouts, I have never been on a cruise, so I'm a bit jealous.

I had to work today, so DH and DS went to pick up DD at uni. They've just texted me to let me know that they are stopping for dinner on the way home. So I'm going to get a takeaway.

I have my presurgical exam tomorrow morning and some other things to do, so I'm taking a day of annual leave.

Indeed it was propofol MissC, and I felt fine afterwards. DS bought me a BLT at a local breakfast place after he sprang me from the hospital. The night before was rough Envy (not envy) and I am officially never drinking Gatorade again. I never liked it to begin with.

My GI doctor turned out to be Irish, grew up a short hop from where I did, and has been in the US about as long as I have.

Wishing you all the best for your procedure.

Glad your radiotherapy went smoothly, Silkies.

Hope your holiday got off to a pleasant start, Helena.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 05/08/2022 12:02

I have just now loudly congratulated a couple on their 'performance fucking' (in English, as that's their language of choice). I am trying to do maths with their activities in the background and it got on my nerves.

Temperature dropped and it rained a bit.

Miss We are cooking and baking with electricity, heating and hot water is gas.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 05/08/2022 12:55

Aaargh - now a guy started to yodel, badly - this is not Bavaria!

Silkierabbit · 05/08/2022 13:50

Thanks Sprouts Hope you have a lovely cruise.

Thanks MissC Hope the pre-surgical exam went well.

Glad your colonoscopy is over Math

Hope it stays cooler Prok

Off to next radiotherapy soon and then a break for the weekend. Was a bit breathless last night but then realised its likely to be Mr Floof redistributing the hay that I am allergic too. He has also been getting small polystyrene balls everywhere so just hoovered those. He is so purry and lovely though. DH started work at 4.30am. Just having hot dogs for lunch but discovered that DS ate all the hot dog rolls except one. Feeling sick today, not sure if its radio or nerves or both but taken a tablet so can get through today. Its very quick and you don't feel anything, just a machine goes round you for 5 mins or so. So much easier than chemo.

CleopatrasBeautifulNose · 05/08/2022 15:06

Popping into the thread to add my little chunk of calm into the mix, though I am so simply terrible at remembering names I don't think I will be able to keep up with who has said and done what so please don't think me unfriendly if I don't get involved in the name checking social part. :)
Today is blue skies and fluffy white clouds so was expecting a nice dry day. Without planning to I decided I might as well take the laundry in off the line though I was meant to be doing something else. Not 60 seconds after I'd got it all in there was a hard downpour from a random small dark cloud that probably only wet my house 😂 I felt triumphant!

HelenaJustina · 05/08/2022 16:36

Cleopatra that is marvellous, congratulations on getting one up on the weather! Small triumphs like that really please me.

CleopatrasBeautifulNose · 05/08/2022 17:17

😊

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 05/08/2022 19:18

Cleopatra Congratulations!

NDN (another one) asked us to water the plants on his terasse. They have among others an absolutely wonderful mimosa about 2 m high. I hope I do not kill it.

sproutsandparsnips · 05/08/2022 20:51

Well done Cleopatra, a triumph indeed!
Thanks Silkie I hope so too!
Helena we are going to the Adriatic and then Greece and Greek Islands.
Miss we went on a couple before covid and really got the bug. The kids love it and I enjoy seeing so many different places although sometimes a taste is not enough and we have not got round to returning anywhere yet!

Lemonsandlemonade · 05/08/2022 21:14

Glad radiotherapy went ok Silkie.

Enjoy your holiday Helena.

Cleo great to get the washing In before rain. Sometimes it’s the little victories.

DS on antibiotics and seems a bit better but his chest is very rattly.

MissConductUS · 05/08/2022 22:42

Welcome, @CleopatrasBeautifulNose , and thanks for sharing your laundry meteorological triumph with us. Don't worry about the names and who is doing what.

Math, I'm glad your scoping when well. Propofol is indeed a wonder. Did they tell you when you needed to do it again? I'm on a two year cycle with them.

Lemons, how long has he been on the antibiotics? That type of thing with kids is usually viral.

I had my presurgical exam this morning, then blood draws and an EKG. everything was running late. I had to take my car to the dealership so they could look at a possible fault but it turned out to be nothing. I tried to get my shopping out of the way today since we have DS's graduation party tomorrow, so I went to both the warehouse club and the posh Italian supermarket. They are moving into a much larger store in a few weeks so that will be nice. The warehouse club has a huge petrol station attached so I stopped there too. Petrol prices here are down a lot from last month.

I'm knackered from the heat and all of the running around.

DH, DS and DD got back from Massachusetts last night around 9:00. It's nice to have DD back for a visit.

Thank you MissConductUS

mathanxiety · 06/08/2022 05:28

I go again in five years, MissC. I may have forgotten the unpleasantness of Tuesday night by then.

CleopatrasBeautifulNose · 06/08/2022 10:27

Went out for some pub grub last night, which involved a short ferry crossing. On the way out of the pub a tall guy with distinctive hair was going across the car park. A few minutes later waiting for the ferry the same guy gets dropped off by the pub chef and waited for the ferry. It was a beautiful evening so I had a chat as we waited. It isn't a highly populated area so I wondered if he was going to same town as us. He was, so I offered him a lift as he clearly has no transport of his own, seemed nice, lovely manners and I knew where he worked.
He was so grateful, after the ferry crossing he was going to have a long walk to bus stop and then over an hour wait for last bus home.. Hopping in with us saved him a whole lot of time. We dropped him off and he got home a LOT earlier than he would have, and he'd helped cook us a lovely meal that night so it was only fair. 😁

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 06/08/2022 10:52

Cleopatra A very sensible and nice thing to do.

My boring news:
Shortly before my 60th birthday I aquired a bad back (pain when I am sitting at my desk) and raw vegetables and fatty food no longer agree with me (twitchy little stabs of pain). So I've made changes (and went to my GP) and now - for the first time in 15 years my weight dropped below 70 kg.

Plus, the 'active' couple and the yodeling guy have checked out of the AirB+B.

Silkierabbit · 06/08/2022 12:24

Cruise sounds lovely Sprouts

Hope your LO is feeling better Lemons

Hope graduation party is lots of fun MissC

Well done on weight loss Prok

Had second radiotherapy session yesterday, 2 days off now then 3 more to go next week and 1 endocrinology cortisol blood test.

DD is working at her punting job today, mistimed buses so DH is dropping her off and should be back soon. Floof has been leaping around, had his tuna kitten food and cat nuts for one of his breakfasts and now having a rest. He can move so fast when food appears its almost like he flies 2 metres at a time.

MissConductUS · 06/08/2022 14:59

Congratulations, Prok, well done!

Cleo, that was a lovely thing to do. Make sure to let him know the next time you go to that restaurant. He'll probably have a special treat for you.

I really wanted to get a picture of the planters that showed the tomatoes, so I took this one leaning over the railing. There are just a few red cherry tomatoes showing. It's a nice day here but will be hot. DS's party starts in about two hours so lots to do.

Have a lovely time today MissConduct!

CleopatrasBeautifulNose · 06/08/2022 18:30

Floof sounds gorgeous! I love the smell of tomatoes growing, makes my heart soar!

Silkierabbit · 06/08/2022 19:57

Thanks Cleo Floof is currently on my bed cuddling my slippers. He is very purry.

DH cleared the silkie chickens today. He is now playing the piano.

May go to the Lido swimming pool tomorrow.
