Hall was reticent about this although she cryptically said of Ferry - when she was with Mick - that he was 'good about the house'... I felt that Jagger had more animal magnetism and sexual know-how - whatever people say about him now - whereas Ferry was a bit less worldly you might say. Should be said that while both have gone the distance looks and career wise, Jagger was an absolute legend back then with 10 years of pop stardom backed up behind him and plenty still ahead to Ferry's Glam Rock thing which may well have been flash in the pan.

Bryan Ferry’s version of Jealous Guy is sublime. Much better than the John Lennon original.

Should also point out that Ferry himself might not be with her still after all this time, didn't he dump his wife for a younger model a few years' back?

She's 65 & Murdoch is 91. They both look old if you asked me.

Happy that Jerry who i always felt warm towards is not with that shit anymore. Though he's a very intelligent man, I can imagine if you can forget what he does he'd be very interesting to talk to.

Mick Jagger was IT at the time and I think she really did properly fall for him. She clung on through affair after affair when it seemed he would have happily waved her onward. He humiliated her a lot and she only gave up when he conceived a child with someone else. She seems like a pleasant enough person, I hope she can find a life that suits her.

He was married to Lucy Helmore for a long time (4 sons) and I think she had some addiction issues. Very sad, she seemed like a nice lady.

None of us can really know of course, but I always thought that he and Jerry appeared very happy at the time and a genuine match, but obviously Mick Jagger had the edge in some way. I think JH may have in the longer term been a bit "full on" for someone who has found happiness as a Sussex squire (and is apparently pathologically shy offstage)

I find Murdoch utterly and profoundly unappealing, not because he's 91 and has looked like an ill tempered tortoise for decades, but because he is not a good influence in the world. I genuinely wish Jerry well, but feel that money was at the root of this strange match.

I felt sorry for Jo Wood when Ronnie Wood left her after a long marriage to be with a younger woman. She'd spent decades trailing after him on Rolling Stones world tours cooking his organic shepherds pies for him and looking after all his needs. I got the feeling (based on nothing really as I don't know her!) that she hoped he'd get it out of his system and come back to her. But he never did and now he's the 70-something dad of young twins. I hope Jo is thriving whatever she's up to!

I imagine she'll do better from a divorce settlement than as a widow, surely he'll leave the bulk of his estate to his many dc.

Presumably there's a prenup so she'll know exactly what she's getting.

If you read Wiki it mentions the control of the empire goes to the children from the first 2 marriages. Dengs children get the money from the empire but have no control over any decisions. It will be a complicated structure anyway. Suspect it won't be an acrimonious divorce. Jagger and his t&c. What a snake. But then when his gf committed suicide he was over her v.quickly and suddenly he is a father again but now in his 70s

Isn't it Rupert Murdoch divorcing Jerry Hall, not the other way round? Maybe he's fed up with her or has found someone else? If that's the case I feel sorry for her. She looked glowing with happiness on her wedding day and I think she always comes across as a genuinely nice person.

I doubt he deals with twins for a minute.

But I hope too Jo has found someone who actually appreciates her. She sounds absolutely lovely.

Jerry is just a bad picker of men so her mum's "advice" was clearly useless and has let her down.
