yeah, he claimed their wedding was just a symbolic Hindu ceremony but not legally binding. Considering they had 4 kids together I think that was pretty shabby of him.

I thought she was elated to cock a snook at Jagger, who conned her with a non-legal “form of marriage”, shagged around for 25 years, and then paid her a derisory settlement with conditions on her occupancy of the family home. It is said that Jagger hates Murdoch with an absolute passion.

Now Hall will be a bona fide divorcee with a fat settlement. Finally.

TBF, it was either very daffy or very cunning of her to pretend that she believed it was legal, depending on your POV.

How could it be cunning to be financially fucked over by an incredibly stingy Rolling Stone? I think he’s horrible. Says something that Rupert Murdoch was the next choice. And I can well believe he’s got some interesting stories. I hope she starts a happy new life.

He is 90 years old and she is 20 years younger.

Well she pretended to believe they were married and actually filed for divorce, which made him look like an absolute arse when the proceedings had to be set aside because no marriage existed. Whether that gave her any kind of psychological or PR advantage or not , who knows? She still didn’t get anything like a divorce settlement.

But her choice wasn’t legal marriage or religious non-binding ceremony. It was a choice to play along with the ceremony and play dumb or not get any ceremony at all. It took her something like 10-15 years and two children to even get that from him. He clearly isn’t too bothered that everyone can see he’s a skinflint who treats the mothers of his children terribly.

It was very choice to breed with a weird rich guy in the first place though.

when I told DH that Jagger had attended the Hall/Murdoch wedding, he remarked that Jagger would have married him himself.

They do look very much like daughter and elderly dad there. Boris and Carrie looked like that at the service at Westminster Abbey last year ( not in swimwear obviously). She looked as if she was trying to lead him and he was hanging on for dear life.
Maybe she just got tired of being with a very much older man. If she was 30 and married a 60 year old the difference in oomph and energy would be just the same as a sixty something and a ninety something. Neither has to worry about money and there will be teams of lawyers dealing with it. I daresay the prenuptial is iron clad and everything that has been bought since the marriage was tied to one or the other legally at the time of purchase. No stress for them over who gets the one and only washing machine .
