I'm not buying any house ever, let alone a five million-pound one 😔, but just browsing what I would buy if I won the lottery I came across this one.

I love modern houses normally but I don't know what it is but it just doesn't seem that great to me. The way the front door opens into the sitting room? Or how it somehow looks cluttered even though it's pretty huge? I suppose I won't be putting in an offer. 😄

I really like it!

Stylishkidintheriot · 21/06/2022 13:10

I really like it. But wouldn’t pay £4,5m for it... more like £450k (I’m in north Scotland where it’s cheap though)

mokololo · 21/06/2022 13:12

Looks like a foyer. I'd be constantly waiting for my name to be called.

TokyoSushi · 21/06/2022 13:13

Looks a bit officey but I'd definitely manage!

EmmaGrundyForPM · 21/06/2022 13:16

I quite like it. Some of the furniture and decor isn't my taste, but I like the structure of the house.

swedex · 21/06/2022 13:16

For 4.5 there needs to be a pool or at the very least a hot tub!

ComtesseDeSpair · 21/06/2022 13:18

It’s a bit sterile, I’d imagine they’ve gone with the advice to depersonalise the space as much as possible for photos and the end result is that it looks uninviting.

Comvit · 21/06/2022 13:19

It looks like a conference centre.

I really hate it - boring, predictable, zero character.

If I had £4.5-5 million, I'd be looking for something a bit more.... interesting.

Brownlongearedbat · 21/06/2022 13:20

I like the bedrooms, they look really peaceful. Not so sure about the 'moat' round the front door - and are those fountain heads in it? Surely it will need constant attention to stop it going green? What happens when it freezes? How safe is it with small children?
Not that I suppose it would concern someone with that sort of money, but I bet it would cost a fortune to heat and generally maintain, especially that cavernous area with the kitchen and sitting area combined.

P205 · 21/06/2022 13:21

I really like it! the decor is quite masculine though. I'd go even quirkier with it.

I always think houses should come with a picture and brief bio of the owner though. I want to know who lives there!

tulips27 · 21/06/2022 13:22

@Brownlongearedbat Yes, I'm not keen on the 'moat'. Or the choice of plants in the hallway.

It looks like the head office of a big company
(I have worked at the head office of a big company that had small trees in the main atrium and it reminded me of that).

custardbear · 21/06/2022 13:25

They'd need tik put a pool and health suite in then I'll buy it!

Littlemissprosecco · 21/06/2022 13:26

I wouldn’t say no!!
I guess if you had that kind of money you’d get a cleaner, gardener and the fountains fountains maintained. You’d just swan around !

DilemmaDelilah · 21/06/2022 13:28

The front door doesn't open into the sitting room though?

FT123456 · 21/06/2022 13:30

I think it looks nice however for 4.5m I'm sure there's better out there!

Greenplant7 · 21/06/2022 13:31

Don’t like weird trees or huge tacky sofa

CaptainMyCaptain · 21/06/2022 13:33

It's not very homely more like a public building.

Crikeyalmighty · 21/06/2022 13:34

Oh I think I could struggle by in it-!! Would be my Hs perfect house- problem is places like that don't really work with family 'mess'!!

SoosanCarter · 21/06/2022 13:34

How original🤣 grey and purple

goldfinchonthelawn · 21/06/2022 13:36

I realy like it but there's no personality to it currently. It's very sterile. Once decent paintings and sculpture and the right plants were added, as well as some more interesting furniture and rugs, it could look amazing.

That’s the location - for whatever reason everything in that area is £££.

I like it too! Would spend £1.5-2m on it (well I personally wouldn’t, it’s way out of my price range. But if I was valuing it).

VerveClique · 21/06/2022 13:39

I think it would make an amazing holiday house!

TheIsaacs · 21/06/2022 13:40

I really like it. It seems calm. It could do with a bit more colour but I don’t think it’s unappealing. The garden looks nice.

😆

Agreed, to me it looks like the reception area of a very nice office. I'm not against modern designs but this one leaves me cold tbh
