Heat Haters Unite

Come here and moan about the heat

If you like the heat, kindly fuck off and do your own thread. This is for those who hate it.

I hate it went it’s hot.

I get headaches, exhaustion, fatigue and just plain grumpy.

I swear like mad and I suffer from heat exhaustion very easily.

So bleh to the heat

Its wonderful because us heat-lovers play outside in the sun and it's lovely and quiet because there are no miserable people about.

What with climate change this could well be the end of miserable people.

FayeGovan · 16/06/2022 15:58

Me too @Soubriquet

DanaScully53 · 16/06/2022 16:06

@Soubriquet Hate the heat with abundance. I get tired, grumpy, lethargic and to top it all I suffer with anhidrosis so I don't even sweat to cool down 😒I've even collapsed and ended up in hospital without knowing I'd been in an ambulance. Roll on cooler weather. I'm sat with all curtains and windows shut. My DP calls me a summer vampire 🧛‍♂️

Soubriquet · 16/06/2022 16:08

I’m also hidden away in a room with a cool fan on me.

I'm in for heat hatred. With my facial spritz and an ice pack. You'll find me lounging under the air con, and not doing much of value.

(Before anybody bitches at me for the a/c we live in a Hot Place so it's a necessity).

ToucanPlayThatGame · 16/06/2022 16:13

I hate it. And I hate it most when it happens in June and coincides with hayfever season. Snot on top of sweat is hideous. I'm popping antihistamines like I'm addicted (on medical advice!) and can barely stay awake. It's either awake and sneezing or asleep for me. But I have to work, so it's trying to stay awake through drug-induced exhaustion.

Roll on September.

Soubriquet · 16/06/2022 16:20

My ideal weather is when it’s warm but the bridge between needing a jumper and not is small.

So much more comfortable

I live in Texas.
I grew up in west Texas where it gets up to 112F and feels dry, dry, dry but it's 112F. If you keep out of the sun and go under shade, it's somewhat tolerable.
I currently live on the Gulf Coast and it's 95F with 90% humidity so it "feels like" 112F. It's suffocating and horrible.
I hate the heat.
I visit England in summer to escape it, funnily enough. Unfortunately, I'm not there this year.
My car's a/c is broken so I'm finding it easier to walk to do errands today. Yay. 😖

Exactly the same. I’m counting the days and doing all I can to cope as best I can.

LetsPlayShadowlands · 16/06/2022 16:42

My people! 🤗

AlisonDonut · 16/06/2022 16:42

It is 34 here in the south of france.

I'm debating moving back to the 'shires...

MinnieMountain · 16/06/2022 16:50

I’m peri-menopausal, so I’m with you.
I’m contemplating swimming at the lido after work but that means cycling there and being around other people.

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 16/06/2022 16:53

I’m so miserable it’s far to hot to move let alone cook. I have a child with autism so I have to cook as DC only eats specific chicken nuggets and chips. I have the fan on full blast which is just blowing the hot air around, and I’m dreading tomorrow even more as it’s only getting hotter. I want to sleep through summer but unfortunately this is not going to happen and it’s to bloody hot to sleep anyway. Roll on winter ❄️ I’m day dreaming of dark nights, hot drinks, blankets and candles, all snuggled up.

SammyScrounge · 16/06/2022 16:56

I have red hair and very very pale skin which burns badly if I don't take care.
I hate sunburn.
I also hate it when the air you breathe feels hot as it goes into your chest.
I hate squinting into the sun on hot days.
I hate walking to the corner shop in blistering heat which snatches at your breath.
I hate dry dusty pavements.
Then joy. The first leaves fall from the trees, the air is civilised once more, I wear shoes instead of sandals. Autumn!

ProudThrilledHappy · 16/06/2022 16:56

Ddog and I are hiding on the sofa with the curtains drawn and Netflix on.

I may have also consumed half a tub of baileys ice cream as well. Best way to spend a hot day!

ForestFae · 16/06/2022 16:57

I hate it too. I can’t sleep so then I’m exhausted and cranky.

RestingMurderousFace · 16/06/2022 16:59

Adore warm days, today is perfect here in the NW. However, anything over 25 degrees can fuck right off!

MustBeThin · 16/06/2022 17:03

I hate the heat! I have rosacea and heat is a massive trigger for me. I bought a portable air con unit for my bedroom last year and it's brilliant. I put it on an hour or 2 before bed and then turn it off. The room is lovely and cool so I can drop of easily, I can never sleep when it's hot.

I'm more worried about the heat this year too because my old dog has heart disease, she's been getting on ok with her medication and still loving life at the min but the vet warned me that the summer heat will be very troublesome for her and I'm scared I'll have to have her pts if it gets too much. 😭

Diam0ndsareagirlsbestfriend · 16/06/2022 17:08

@Soubriquet thank you for starting this thread I'm here to hate the heat! I get extremely irritated by being overly hot, over tired, irritated and headachey. Hate wasps too. Oh and the worst thing for me is not being able to sleep because where your laying the bedsheet resembles the inside of an oven turned up to the highest heat (ok slight exaggeration!) but you know what I mean. Your exhausted from hot sweaty sleepless nights. The fan just blows hot air around the room. I hate summer clothes, given up on shorts I just wear the biggest floaty dresses I can find. Roll on winter nights snuggled under the duvet with big fluffy pyjamas and jumper and legging days.

Oh I mentioned irritated twice. Did I mention the heat irritates me???? 🤣🤣

ItsSnowJokes · 16/06/2022 17:10

I hate the heat, and currently have bells palsy and the heat is really making my eye bad again when I had a tiny amount of movement back in it. I have been in a room with the fan on and curtains shut all day and still struggling. I can't go out in the sunshine cos of my eye either. So just stuck sweltering and suffering.

Anothernameforallthis · 16/06/2022 17:12

France too: it was 32 degrees inside my office by this apm!!! Considerably hotter cycling home in the sun. it’s aaawwwwfffuuuullllll!

Soubriquet · 16/06/2022 17:27

I can’t go outside without my sunglasses on

My eyes seem to be so so sensitive to the sun and I can’t even just squint. I have to close them fully. So sunglasses are a must for me
