Come here and moan about the heat

If you like the heat, kindly fuck off and do your own thread. This is for those who hate it.

I hate it went it’s hot.

I get headaches, exhaustion, fatigue and just plain grumpy.

I swear like mad and I suffer from heat exhaustion very easily.

So bleh to the heat

Hate really hot weather, also I really hate the people who say "oh the hotter the better for me" when they ask if I'm "enjoying this lovely sunshine" and I say no.

User3568975431146 · 17/06/2022 00:24

Not a hot weather flower at all but I've got three windows open in my bedroom just now and there's a lovely gentle cool breeze going through the room. Bliss! ❄️

Adamantspants · 17/06/2022 01:24

I fucking hate it!

WEEonline · 17/06/2022 03:12

My people! I have found my tribe. I HATE the heat. It's worse in direct sunlight, barely tolerable in the shade. T-shirt sticking to my sweat, getting tired after 10 mins of walk. Can't even read a good book as I just feel miserable, irritated and grumpy. My colleague from Finland colleague thinks I'm totally crazy 😉

Oizys · 17/06/2022 03:23

Finally I have found my people. I’m so fed up of being told I’m miserable for not liking the sun and heat. I have no problem with other people liking it I just i personally hate it! I’ve already started my yearly campaign to live somewhere cold! 🤣 on day DH will give in

I’ve always hated the heat since being a kid because I burn easily and overheat / get faint or dizzy when out in the sun too long. Anything over 20 is too hot for me but to top it all now the bloody sun and heat trigger my migraines!

dreading the nursery and school runs for the next month

MinnieMountain · 17/06/2022 05:56

You poor thing @Rockbird . I was at my 8yo’s school yesterday. They don’t seem to give a crap about the heat.
I miss the sea breezes of my childhood.

SheSaysShush · 17/06/2022 17:26

We're allowed to dislike seasons. I LOVE winter.

Soubriquet · 17/06/2022 17:42

Everyone has their hates and likes but for some reason, hating hot weather is akin to skinning live puppies to some people

It's currently 32° here in Essex. I have a South facing garden. The sun can fuck right off.
I'm OK up to about 22°!!

lollipoprainbow · 17/06/2022 17:53

I'd go as far as to say it makes me feel depressed almost like SAD in reverse. Give me a bright, sunny but nip the air autumn day anytime !!

ClumpingBambooIsALie · 17/06/2022 17:56

I just went outside in the garden to sit down in the shade for ten minutes. Had to come in because on top of the headaches and tremors I felt like I was going to throw up (genuinely — it's hot indoors but being out there tipped me over the edge). The sneerers wouldn't sneer if they had to feel that.

BOOTS52PollyPrissyPants · 17/06/2022 17:57

I loved the sun when I was younger and lived and worked abroad in very high temperatures but now hate the extreme heat. I love 16 to 18 degrees with a breeze, anything more and I stay indoors. All those who are sitting out in the sun with their faces in it for years will look wrinkly and so old and tea stained necks. Nothing worse than a crowded beach and people stuffing themselves with food and pints yuk. I always have to have sunglasses on as have very sensitive eyes. My ideal holiday is Iceland now and hope to go sometimes as lovely beautiful natural things to see.

BOOTS52PollyPrissyPants · 17/06/2022 17:59

In my last job I even had people tell me to sit out in the sun and tan, I do tan but I choose not to as I like my clear skin as it goes with my dark hair. I do think the body looks better with a tan but not all the orange bodies you see around and people with it all hanging out. People think you are weird if you do not like the sun and look at me strange when I say no hotter than 18 thanks

DeadButDelicious · 17/06/2022 18:06

Hello my people! I cannot STAND being too hot. The sun and the heat feel loud and suffocating and I cannot bear it. The only thing it's good for is drying washing 😂.

It's not been too bad here, got up to about 27 ish but it's dropping quite steadily now (currently 22) and my weather app informs me it will be 16 and rainy tomorrow and then hover around 18-22 for the rest of the week. Much more like it. I long for autumn!

ClumpingBambooIsALie · 17/06/2022 18:07

I burn, then heal straight back to pale.

If I manage the tricky feat of having a little bit of exposure but not enough to burn and doing that repeatedly all summer, any exposed skin goes a colour that's best described as "slightly grubby". Thanks, genetics.

Soubriquet · 17/06/2022 18:41

I tan but I don’t like it

So I’m always seeking out shade.

I was the weirdo who took their umbrella last year at the sports day just so I had some shade to sit under

That doesn't sound much fun. How the hell do dolphins manage to do it underwater?

Carrieonmywaywardsun · 17/06/2022 19:38

I feel so safe in this thread. My joint inflammation gets worse in the heat so I'm in pain, grumpy and can't even have a cool shower. Just anavoidable crapness

PaddingtonBearStareAgain · 17/06/2022 19:47

Can I join.

I am recovering from major surgery and my staples up s large part of my spine are so itchy.

DH has changed the dressing on my zip as he calls it and says it isn't red or anything.

DSC have been fab and are keeping me fed with cold ice pops 🤣

Feeling incredibly sorry for myself.

I just had to peel my 2 year old off me as well. No fun feeding to sleep in this weather.

MotherofPearl · 17/06/2022 23:22

I join the heat haters threads every year. It's so nice to have a safe space to complain about the heat, without the usual expressions of horror when you say you hate summer.

I find it irritating that 'good' weather = hot. For me, good weather is a cold, dry winter's day.

Today has been horrendous though thankfully here in the NW a cool breeze has come up so I am airing out the house - all windows open to release the heat.

My strategy is to keep all blinds and curtains shut during the day, and windows open just a bit. Then when it cools down in the evening, open every window really wide.

The good news is that it's the summer equinox next week which for me is always a good mental milestone. I know there's still a lot of summer to get through, but I enjoy tracking the later sunrises and, eventually, earlier sunsets.

MotherofPearl · 17/06/2022 23:24

Also, I'm lobbying DP for a move to Glasgow. I'd possibly be the first person to move to Glasgow because of its weather.

EmmaH2022 · 17/06/2022 23:28

Ooh I just posted on another thread
doesn't seem like it's cooling down much
hard to believe tomorrow will be better
