Come here and moan about the heat

If you like the heat, kindly fuck off and do your own thread. This is for those who hate it.

I hate it went it’s hot.

I get headaches, exhaustion, fatigue and just plain grumpy.

I swear like mad and I suffer from heat exhaustion very easily.

So bleh to the heat

I've had enough of it too! My fringe is my worst enemy in this heat, I've had 2 showers!

I just got back from Greece where it was obviously hot but it's so different there and more bareable, this country is just not built for hot weather in my opinion!

Also, I'm lobbying DP for a move to Glasgow. I'd possibly be the first person to move to Glasgow because of its weather.

I've found my people!!
I HATE the heat. HATE IT. Its hotter than Satan's rectum here. I'm counting down the days until Autumn/Winter. I'm a sweaty miserable mess.

Nat6999 · 17/06/2022 23:53

I'm sat next to my fan that is on maximum, it's one of those you can add water & Ice blocks, I've had it on 3 days now.

Hattttttttte it. Am a ginge with skin the colour of tipp-ex. My already quite severe migraines get worse in the heat too. Only way to beat them is to eat heartily and carb-heavily early on in the day and take my preventative drugs while trying to keep cool, but weirdly I don’t feel much like eating four sandwiches and a load of beta blockers when it’s 34 degrees out (and when I’m at work, in a school, teaching a load of surly, hot 15yr olds iambic pentameter). I’ve avoided the migraine today, but every day it’s over about 26-27 degrees is a game of headache roulette and I do not want to play.

SheSaysShush · 18/06/2022 12:01

I've driven 4 hours north of Manchester today to Northumberland. It is a lovely 16°c !

Tryhard40 · 18/06/2022 12:19

Where are all you people? I'm in the NW and we had a hottish day yesterday but it was by no means unbearable - and was cloudy, cool and spitting by about 7pm!

Soubriquet · 18/06/2022 12:42

Lincolnshire here.

Its a lot cooler today which is brilliant but it was horribly hot yesterday.

Never been a fan of heat waves and being out in intense sunshine. I don't regulate my temperature very well and above a certain point I start to feel sicky/unwell and desperate for shade.

Worse is when there is no breeze, stagnant hot air. Can't breath, can't lift an iron or do anything without a layer of sweat all over even minutes after a shower/bath.

I love walking so even that pleasure is taken away for days at a time in hot weather. Much prefer autumn and spring. Stuck to the house and exhausted after sleepless, very restless nights, what's to like.

But cool, cloudy, some rain here now and I'm glad for the relief. Dread more heatwaves though, can't wait for the end of September.

Overheard people outside moaning about the 'loss of our 1 day summer'...it's global warming fgs, these high temperatures are nothing to celebrate.

Middle England here and it was still 32 degrees plus yesterday.

Raining now though.

I'm in France. 40 here today. They have cancelled outdoors activities of any kind apart from private parties such as weddings here. I'm stuck in an airport waiting for a plane to depart the UK before I send my mother through security.

Not fun.

Soubriquet · 18/06/2022 17:03

We are supposed to have rain today but it’s not happening.

The sky is dull and it’s cool but no rain

I want rain!

I’m day dreaming of dark nights, hot drinks, blankets and candles, all snuggled up.

If you feel the heat surely you don't need all of these in winter?

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 19/06/2022 22:36

I can assure you I do. I suffer with anemia regularly due to endometriosis. I’m regularly on a course of iron tablets and other vitamins. I tend to feel the cold easily in winter. However I still prefer autumn and winter as it is easy enough to warm myself up, and I actually enjoy the dark nights and weather.

Hate heat! My DH is from south of Europe and have refused to go visit his family in August for 3 years in a row so far. We have school-age DCs so can only go in summer hols. I overheard DH talking to his DF on the phone where his DF said that I do not respect them. They can't understand that I can not be in a 40+ c heat!

Could you not go at half term, Christmas or Easter instead?
