I love love love cheese. I'm pretty basic, love Brie and Camembert.

My dad always used to bring me Saint Felicien from a booze cruise. That's probably my top cheese.

I also like hard cheese, blue cheese (not Stilton though) smoked cheese

What am I missing out on?

Goats cheese. Sheese (vegan cheese) isn't too bad either.

Cooleeney cheese like a brie/camembert.
Made in Tipperary with milk from Friesian cows.
Let it melt at room temperature or bake it.
Absolutely delicious.

@notonyournely I'm a Yorkshire lass so not going to be loyal to over the hill! 🤣 Can't imagine a lemony cheese though 🤔

AffIt · 12/06/2022 19:01

My absolute favourite cheese is Comte, but I'm also very fond of a mature blue cheese, especially a nice Stilton or runny Gorgonzola (with slices of pear, celery and port!).

Not very fond of goat's cheese, though.

KatherineJaneway · 12/06/2022 19:07

Roquefort

We were at the creamery in hawes at Xmas and in the restaurant they did a cheese cake with Wensleydale in it. I didn't like the sound of it but it was delicious (made DP order it) so I reckon a lemon cheese with those hovis crackers would be good

HorseInTheHouse · 12/06/2022 20:12

Saint Agur! So delicious.

Cas112 · 12/06/2022 20:15

Gorgonzola 🤤

Greensleeves · 12/06/2022 20:24

My favourite is Vignotte. Eating it is a spiritual experience.

Other than that, I love pretty much all cheese. Creamy, crumbly, blue, goaty, sheepy, smoked, spicy, runny, rubbery....I love 'em all Grin

AutieAdult · 12/06/2022 20:33

Aged mimolette. In shops in Paris you can get it cubed. A strong Gouda can be a reasonable substitute and much better for knives.

mature cheddar, but I also like Cheshire

WashableVelvet · 12/06/2022 20:42

St Felicien, St Maure with the straw in, brillat savarin, buffalo mozzarella, hard goats cheeses, pecorino. Pecorino with black truffle! Don’t generally like cheese with stuff in but love that.

I thought I was more of a high end cheese purist than it turns out I am. I still love St Agur better than any other blue, and can’t stand washed rind cheeses.

TheOGCCL · 12/06/2022 20:58

The only cheese I don’t like is cottage (is that even a cheese) and when they put fruit in it. My favourites are Fontina and when they sandwich Gorgonzola and Mascarpone together.

TheOGCCL · 12/06/2022 21:03

But the cheese I eat most of is Light Babybels as more diet friendly

MintyGreenDream · 12/06/2022 21:23

Garlic and herb Boursin.Almost sexual.

UrsulaPandress · 12/06/2022 21:27

No no no. Black pepper Boursin. But nowhere sells it 😢

heavyistheheed · 12/06/2022 13:57

You're all wrong.

Époisses is the answer.

@heavyistheheed I'm with you!

Époisses is both dh and my favourite cheese. Stinks to high heaven and a perfectly matured one will make its own way to your plate Grin

But it tastes divine - nothing like it smells Confused

Kaltbach is the best.

Oooh I love Kaltbach! Legend has it there are other types of it available outside the UK. I want them!

They have the sandwich one in Lidl at the moment, it's Italian week.
