I wondered why my niece (19) was asking me about seeing Kate Bush at Hammersmith afew years as she’d never mentioned her before. Ive never watched Stranger Things but how lovely that a new generation is listening to her www.theguardian.com/music/2022/jun/10/kate-bushs-running-up-that-hill-climbs-higher-than-ever-to-no-2-in-charts i was 8 in 1979 but can still remember being hypnotised by her. And then after that she was the soundtrack to my uni days.

I love Sensual World and Army Dreamers her videos were bizarre😃

My username probably gives it away... And Dream of Sheep is one of my many favourites.

I was lucky enough to be at one of the Hammersmith gigs a few years ago and it was just fabulous

The Big Sky and Moving!

Cloudbusting the tribute band are excellent, great voices and fantastic choices of songs.
I recommend an America group of young women called Baby Bushka who were touring in UK recently. They are very theatrical, have great voices and play their own instruments. I saw them last week and they covered some of Kate’s most obscure songs like Pull Out The Pin, The Night Of The Swallow & There Goes A Tenner as well as the well known songs. It was brilliant to be there with loads of other Kate fans singing and dancing.

Wuthering Heights
Babooshka.
Man with the child in his eyes.
Army Dreamers, which brings back very strong and poignant memories.

It's impossible for me to choose just one song, there are so many. The woman is a bona fide genius.

I do love that she has made a 'summer' album - Sky of Honey (Ie Arial disc 2) - and a 'winter' album - 50 Words for Snow, that I like to listen to at the appropriate times of year.

Wuthering Heights is just a masterpiece

Norgie · 13/06/2022 21:01

None of it. Her catawauling is an assault on my eardrums.

pointythings · 14/06/2022 09:29

@Norgie come back when you can spell 'caterwauling', dear. Why post on a thread about an artist you don't like, anyway?

WildRosie · 14/06/2022 10:42

Cloud busting, then Them Heavy People.

Norgie · 14/06/2022 12:16

@pointythings Apologies for English not being my native language. DFOD.

pointythings · 14/06/2022 13:08

@Norgie it isn't mine either, but I can be bothered to spell it properly and when I'm unsure, I look it up. My question stands: why comment on a thread about what is your favourite Kate Bush song when you hate Kate Bush? Scroll on by and let the rest of us celebrate our Kate Bush love.

Chikapu · 14/06/2022 13:20

I absolutely love Hello Earth, it's just so haunting.
Cloudbusting and Running up that hill are both amazing (and I love the Placebo cover).

Jamesandthecoldgun · 14/06/2022 23:52

Never be mine
The Fog
Reaching out
James and the cold gun
Night of the swallow**
Jig of life
Almost every other song she wrote, I am totally obsessed and was very very lucky to see her a few times in 2014.

TitilatedOcelot · 15/06/2022 00:33

Too hard to choose just one, I love everything she's done.

I also saw her at Hammersmith, nearly booked a second night, but didn't and always regretted not going again while I had the chance. Can't believe it was 8 years ago!

I don't think she will tour again, she mainly did the last one for Bertie, and don't see where she could go from there - experiencing the whole of Aerial and The Ninth Wave live with all the production that went with it was breathtaking. Wish there was a DVD as well as the live CD.

dapsnotplimsolls · 17/06/2022 20:01

And dream of sheep.

I keep listening to Suspended in Gaffa at the moment.

FamilyGredunza · 18/06/2022 00:10

Number one for Kate!

FamilyGredunza · 18/06/2022 00:26
