What is your favourite Kate Bush song?

I wondered why my niece (19) was asking me about seeing Kate Bush at Hammersmith afew years as she’d never mentioned her before. Ive never watched Stranger Things but how lovely that a new generation is listening to her www.theguardian.com/music/2022/jun/10/kate-bushs-running-up-that-hill-climbs-higher-than-ever-to-no-2-in-charts i was 8 in 1979 but can still remember being hypnotised by her. And then after that she was the soundtrack to my uni days.

I love Sensual World and Army Dreamers her videos were bizarre😃

Definitely The Man With the Child in his Eyes...such a wonderful song as a pp said... amazingly she wrote it at such a young age.

Does anyone else remember the kids tv show running up that hill was originally the soundtrack to?

Yes! It was on at teatime. I think it was a thriller, or creepy, at any rate I remember it being a bit unnerving.

My favourite will always be Wuthering Heights, although I love so many of her songs.

Army Dreamers and Oh England, my LionHeart.
Oh England always makes me think of my gran as she lived in Kent during the Battle of Britain and saw dogfights as described in the song. I miss her very much she's been gone 30 years this year but this song makes me feel close to her.

I should add she (Kate) when to St Joseph's Convent in Bexleyheath where my gran was the school secretary so it made it seem that much closer somehow

I love The Red Shoes takes me right back to halls of residence sharing a single bed with who I thought was the love of my life. It was an underrated album really.

None of her stuff. Can't abide her tuneless wailing.

@ThinkAboutItTomorrow it was Running Scared and it’s all available on YouTube. I watched it again a few years ago and it holds up pretty well.

I’m not a Kate Bush fan but my teen son did ask me recently if I’d heard of her....‘she’s got a great song in Stranger Things’ he said. ’Yes, son, I’ve heard of her.’ 😂

In a previous season if was, ‘Mum, have you heard of Bon Jovi?’ 😂 ‘Erm, yes, they are one of my favourite bands ever...I play them all the time’.

‘Well they’ve got a great song in Stranger Things called Runaway, do you know it?’ Yes son, I know it. 🤣😅

Good that they’re hearing some of the old ‘uns though.

Love Army Dreamers and Babushka! My dad used to be madly in love with Kate Bush and would play her albums all the time as I was growing up so all her songs are very familiar and comforting to me.

I absolutely love the Placebo cover of Running up that Hill as well as KB version too.

I can still remember the first time I heard Wuthering Heights. Must have been 14 and it was so different. Moments of pleasure also up there.
