What's with the leggings wedgie look?

I hope I'm not being rude and perhaps I'm showing my age, but what is it with people wearing leggings the are wedged right into their butt crack? It seems like this is the current trend but it seems so vulgar 🙈

Oh I don't know why I missed that

I just thought those women had huge arses like me. I hide mine.

i saw this fashion at the weekend. You know what’s good about it? It looks comfortable and it celebrates all sizes.

when I was a teenager the equivalent was low cut jeans which were uncomfortable and gave most people a muffin top which would be fine except you didn’t want a muffin top, oh no. Kudos on kids these days for being more body positive.

With all due respect, I don't think this super-wedgie look is going to be "celebrating" some arse sizes. 😳

I’m just gutted that big bums weren’t a thing when I was young and pert and well rounded.

@boronia

I think during the French Revolution women in society in Paris used to have transparent tops on their dresses and rouge their nipples so fashion is often pretty bizarre.

In addition to the above, in the French Court, some dresses were cut underbust,so the whole breast and nipples were fully exposed. But an exposed ankle was a big no-no! You wouldn't do it.

This demonstrates how what is acceptable in terms of fashion evolves and changes.

Sure but when I go to the shop like it suddenly it's a problem ConfusedGrin

What’s that got to do with my question as to how people are apparently so assaulted by other people’s privates?

My opinion, they look hideous, especially the overweight ones!

StarlightLady · 06/06/2022 17:39

@Sux2buthen - 😂😂😂

balalake · 06/06/2022 17:52

Leggings look awful in my opinion, if it helps mean some more jeans or skirts are sold, so much the better.

Second only to men who wear tracksuit bottoms trying to show off their inadequacies in awfulness.

Megapint · 09/06/2022 16:13

Looking back at some of the stuff I wore as a teen / early 20’s, these are no more ridiculous.

The reality is that, whether you dress for the male gaze or not, males will gaze regardless. It

Justaniceguy · 05/10/2025 05:38

The reality is that, whether you dress for the male gaze or not and whether you approve of it or not,, males will gaze regardless. It’s just human nature. Coming from a male. While I don’t go out of my way to do it and will try to avoid it where possible, I’d be a hypocrite if I said I didn’t do it myself.
Not to say it can’t stop, but just saying what it is a reflection of today’s society.
