I'll start. Simply because it's Sunday and I'm bored...

Group holidays - you couldn't drag me on one of these!! Hell

Festivals - the crowds, the hay fever, the sweat, overpriced everything, the constant queue for a rancid pop up toilet

Valentines Day - tacky, commercialised crap

Work Christmas Dos - I don't even bother going anymore. Too old to pretend I'm social

Omg! I forgot..
Hair cuts
Massages

Literally anything where people are touching me (unless it's an emergency) just gtfo me!

Also clothes shopping. I like a certain style which isn't deemed as mainstream so no shops on the high street sell anything I'd wear. I do enjoy shopping online though.

Surprised no-one's mentioned fancy dress yet. Just too much effort for too little reward.

Oh yes - that too! Why, oh Why... 🌹

penpalgal · 05/06/2022 21:09

I agree with camping. I also love the great outdoors, but I'm a light sleeper and rain or other people's noise will make me sleep deprived. Also, it's bloody freezing sleeping in a tent at night, then by mid-day, if it's warm in summer you get baked alive in the thing. Hard, damp floors, unable to move around or find anything, the musty smell. Just no.

ofwarren · 05/06/2022 21:10

Bowling. It's expensive and over with quite quickly.
Boring

penpalgal · 05/06/2022 21:12

...and Christmas markets. I went to the one in Lincoln one year. Absolutely packed out so it was like cattle walking in lines into a slaughterhouse. The stalls were selling utter tat. I remember seeing some wooden figures for the tree clearly being marketed as something handmade that I had seen being sold in Poundland.

@ShowOfHands which festivals? I am wanting to take my DDs to festivals soon. Covid slowed us down with experiencing things like that. DDs are 7 and 4.

NippyWoowoo · 05/06/2022 21:25

Summer. This country is not made for the higher temperatures that we've been seeing and it's absolute torture for me. I'm so grateful that it's May and I put a coat on today to go for a walk.

chunkymandarincoulis · 05/06/2022 21:27

Swimming. Never enjoyed it, don't find it fun and absolutely hate getting my face wet. Expecially if I'm splashed by someone else.

High temperatures!!! Where the hell do you live?

I was just about to start a thread about the shit weather we've had this year and where the hell is the summer 😲

NippyWoowoo · 05/06/2022 21:35

Raging house parties where a pile of randoms you don't know drink all night then find a spot on the floor to curl up for the night.

Never found it appealing, and with every year into my thirties it becomes more and more repulsive.

But that doesn't stop my friend from inviting my to her husband's bday 'celebrations' every year. And getting upset when I have an excuse.

I stopped going to them a few years ago and this year she thinks because she's told me months in advance that I won't book anything on that weekend.

I won't, but I'm still not going.

TheChosenTwo · 05/06/2022 21:38

Any kind of jubilee related party or get together. Just fuck off with your shitty flags please. If I want to talk to my neighbours I’ll just go round.

Christmas markets - load of old crap being marked up for the occasion and hundreds of people milling round eating pretzels and drinking that hot wine stuff pretending to have a good time in the drizzle with garish lights and market stall carrier bags everywhere. Horrific.

(I love the spa but it’s at the end of my road and I’m a member so know when it’s quiet and not filled with groups on spa days being loud and annoying. I go on my own for an hour and it’s bloody lovely!)

@MrsJBaptiste I mean high temperatures of the past few years, this year so far is different (as I stated wearing a coat in May). Last year and the last few years we've had temps up to 38°. I did not sign up for this shit

I'm sorry but I'm really LOVING the weather so far this year and hope it stays this way 🙈

jessicaemily · 05/06/2022 21:39

Birthdays. I get really upset if any of my friends forget, even though I know it's really silly at my age...

Whoops 😂 I’ve off this week and have no idea what day (or month) it is.

But even better to have got to June with no crazy heat waves yet (I remember having some as early as easter before).

Fingers crossed!

StaunchMomma · 05/06/2022 21:56

I'm like that about summer. All of it.

Hay fever, squinting, freckles, sun cream, BBQs, chavs with tops off, pub beer gardens, floaty feckin fabrics, , sleepless nights in the heat, did I say the joys of the 3 month cold that is hay fever?, crowded beaches, the pressure to book a holiday, people everywhere, more bikes on the roads, sunburn & most annoyingly the fact that everyone else bloody loves it!!!!

HATE it.

Bring on the autumn for cardis & knee high boots!! Can't wait!!!

SliceOfCakeCupOfTea · 05/06/2022 22:02

Getting too drunk.

I know that's an obvious one but I love a good drink, heck I would say I generally drink too much, but on occasion I have that one drink too many and I get into a state of panic and need to get home asap.

It rarely happens but fucking hell, it feels like the world is ending when it happens

Hay fever is rubbish I grant you.

The rest is manageable with sunglasses, fans and cotton fabrics?

it’s not compulsory to go to crowded beaches or take any notice of others’ clothes?
