I'll start. Simply because it's Sunday and I'm bored...

Group holidays - you couldn't drag me on one of these!! Hell

Festivals - the crowds, the hay fever, the sweat, overpriced everything, the constant queue for a rancid pop up toilet

Valentines Day - tacky, commercialised crap

Work Christmas Dos - I don't even bother going anymore. Too old to pretend I'm social

All of op's and pot luck lunches.

Hen nights
Baby showers

I enjoy socialising, love a wedding, but these two ‘fun’ events leave me cold.

Cottagepieandpeas · 05/06/2022 14:57

Agree with so many of these! (Although I do like Christmas).

My main one is Summer.
I'm fed up with people thinking I have some sort of personality defect because I don't enjoy summer.

Wincarnis · 05/06/2022 14:59

Summer & summer holidays
weddings
christenings
spa days
eating out
New Year’s Eve

I am not a misery, honest, just hate the sun and hate having to get dressed up and make small talk

Imabouttoexplode · 05/06/2022 14:59

Hen dos and weddings. Can't bear either and will never go to either again. Dull, expensive, lots of standing around and waiting, hungry and too hot/cold. Can't bear any kind of planned, group, forced fun.

HereIAmBrainTheSizeOfAPlanet · 05/06/2022 15:00

How controversial

ofwarren · 05/06/2022 15:03

Barbecues

wwyd2021medicine · 05/06/2022 15:06

Spa days - no way on gods green earth would I make myself endure such a torture of boredom. I'd rather go to the dentist.

FranklySonImTheGaffer · 05/06/2022 15:08

Any type of work party
Baby showers
Beach / hot holidays
Moving to hybrid working (from WFH)

More than all the others combined - summer.** I hate being hot, I get headaches when it's bright, god awful hay fever and the pressure to do something to show you're enjoying any day that it's warm.
I'm another one who gets annoyed when people think I'm weird because I'd happily pay to go somewhere cold!

Blueblisters · 05/06/2022 15:14

Work parties. Our last one involved a lunch (nice) then a mariachi band turned up and went around each table serenading people with covers of well known songs. Everyone else was either creasing themselves laughing or getting up and singing and dancing along. Followed by a mass sing along activity and live band and dancing with some colleagues who donned zany wigs and danced around grabbing people to get up and dance. There were only a few of us left in the end. I know I sound miserable but I truly truly hate that kind of thing, being forced to dance is something that makes me cringe and I left as soon as I could. Absolutely everyone else seemed to love it though.

Blueblisters · 05/06/2022 15:15

Only a few of us left sitting and not dancing to clarify!

ofwarren · 05/06/2022 15:16

Going to see a comedian
Any shows with audience participation

user1497787065 · 05/06/2022 15:18

My birthday - a year closer to dying.

StopStartStop · 05/06/2022 15:19

Eurovision. No artistic merit.
Festivals. People go for the event, not the music. Not for me.
Mock social events. Work parties, street parties...
Queuing for food.

Amy191 · 05/06/2022 15:21

New Years Eve, birthdays, getting my hair done (worst thing ever!)

Blueblisters · 05/06/2022 15:21

Also absolutely hated nightclubs as a teenager. Getting there at 10. Knowing you had five hours to spend in a dark sweaty room with music so loud you couldn’t hear yourself think. Your friend going off with some guy by 11 and having to wait around till closing at 3 as you were staying the night at hers. Pre smart phones so there was literally nothing to do but sit.

ofwarren · 05/06/2022 15:21

Getting a takeaway
I just end up feeling bloated and unsatisfied, no matter what I order.

FreeTherapyForTheThickSkinned · 05/06/2022 15:21

Christmas. I loathe Christmas.

Kanaloa · 05/06/2022 15:22

Haircuts. I always tell new hairdressers please don’t massage me and they’re always blank like ‘why?’ I don’t want my head massaged while you soak my neck and sweater in boiling water.

dottiedodah · 05/06/2022 15:23

Never liked NYE even when younger! Up till 4am .Shattered /hung over next day ,feel like crap. Dont like crowds even less so now.

JudgeRindersMinder · 05/06/2022 15:25

Work dos-I’m not much of a drinker and the sole purpose of them seems to be getting pissed

mintbiscuit · 05/06/2022 15:25

OMG, I think I’ve finally found my people!

ofwarren · 05/06/2022 15:27

The Olympics
It's soooo boring

TheWeeDonkey · 05/06/2022 15:28

Tryagain2020 · 05/06/2022 15:29
