I'll start. Simply because it's Sunday and I'm bored...

Group holidays - you couldn't drag me on one of these!! Hell

Festivals - the crowds, the hay fever, the sweat, overpriced everything, the constant queue for a rancid pop up toilet

Valentines Day - tacky, commercialised crap

Work Christmas Dos - I don't even bother going anymore. Too old to pretend I'm social

Drinking tea and coffee.

I like tea and coffee, but going out "for a coffee" with other people? No thanks

axolotlfloof · 05/06/2022 15:32

Dancing, loud music, no seats.
Also hairdresser and spas.

FourChimneys · 05/06/2022 15:39

Christmas. I have no idea why it has to happen every year. I do the absolute bare minimum, which gets less and less each year.

BouncyMonk · 05/06/2022 15:40

Am I the first to slap Mother’s Day on the table?

My mum is still around so it’s not that. It’s just a disappointment I don’t need thanks.

5thHelena · 05/06/2022 15:41

Musicals. Literally all musicals. Make my ears bleed.

HisHX · 05/06/2022 15:47

All of the above +Jubilee street parties in the rain/any weather really. My dog got a nice long walk to keep us away from that one.

Festivals, gigs etc. Cost a fortune, you're either so far back you're just watching on a TV screen or you're so close you're squashed and you can't see the whole set.
Takes forever and a day to get a drink from a bar / get any food. The toilets are beyond disgusting and the music is always a little bit shit even when you love the band. Happy to let my friends go to those whilst I sit it out!

I love coffee out, brunch, lunch, dinner, etc etc. But bottomless brunches with terrible prosecco leave me cold. Why do I want to drink multiple glasses of cheap crap that I'm act paying quite a lot for early in the day so I feel fuzzy for the rest of it... And we all know it's not actually bottomless. I'd much rather drink one or two glasses or decent wine at a wine bar in the later afternoon.

PeonyRose80 · 05/06/2022 15:54

Summer, I get terrible hayfever so spend most days feeling like I have flu, and people constantly telling me how I need to cheer up as the sun is out.

Clubbing, too tired to stay up late even when a teenager.

Anything where it’s a forced celebration - valentines, halloween, anniversaries, jubilees, new years (I do however love my little family christmas and easter - hate big gatherings)

Sleepingb · 05/06/2022 15:56

New Year's Eve - what's the point. It is just another day.
Nightclubs - always awful music, lots of drugged out people, it was so boring 😴
Standing only gigs - I want to sit down, I'm on the shorter side so standing gigs mean I see little

Bbq1 · 05/06/2022 16:08

TheWeeDonkey · 05/06/2022 15:28

Christmas and New Year
Any kind of work "do" I spend 8 hours and day 5 days a week with these people, ghats more than enough for me

This is so me... I like my colleagues, some a lot but why would I want to spend more time with the whole workplace ?? I want to be with family and friends when not working, doing things I enjoy. The amount of tea's out, Xmas do's, hen parties etc that I turn down is vast.

GetThatHelmetOn · 05/06/2022 16:10

Beach and sky holidays, camping, New Years parties, work dos.

THisbackwithavengeance · 05/06/2022 16:15

Re the corporate days out, I used to work abroad in an organisation which had a mixture of British and local staff.

We used to have loads of corporate bonding events, think team games with tasks and races.

The local staff absolutely loved this kind of thing, really got into it, were massively competitive, clearly got loads out it whereas the British staff were all WTF and then buggered off to the pub as soon as the leader's back was turned.

Kanaloa · 05/06/2022 16:17

I think it’s just because you already work so much of your life. I resent having to spend a rare day when I’m not supposed to be working doing ‘fun’ mandatory activities.

MintyGreenDream · 05/06/2022 16:21

Christmas.
