Was genuinely surprised when that was the word, as my greens bore little relation to each other and I was just throwing words at it to find a track. I do like the symmetry of matching the guesses to the puzzle number though.

This one is driving me mad. I've taken so many hints and they're all unrelated and have all been dead ends. Before I take yet another hint, is anything I've got here any good?

If you went to see a 789 and the outcome was not what you expected then you could say there was (secret) in the ending.

I've never taken so many hints! Ironically I'd got to 789 really early on and then couldn't get higher so eventually took a hint. I took 8 in the end and they didn't help at all 😬

BTW I know the algorithm etc etc but I feel like if the answer is "related" then "family" should be at least in the top 1000. meh!

Loathed today's - it's a word that always pisses me off in the way it's usually used in newspapers etc.

Another hideous one. 258 with almost no greens for ages, and then totally unhelpful ones.
