You know when there is a bit of a pile on here where someone mentions sexism and everyone else insists their partner would never dream of xyz?

I’d really like to think you’ve had a word with yours!

My dog stopped to relieve himself while on our walk. I would never dream of doing anything other than picking up his waste and I can manage that without an audience.

I’m 5ft and female walking a breed of dog typically thought of as a good family pet. If you or your partner are labouring under the delusion he would have stopped to supervise a man and make sure he was a responsible dog owner, or remark,
”good choice” when I turned out to be so and he missed out on his civilian law enforcement moment, I rather suspect you are mistaken.

NAMALT-but yours is!

Yes this has been bugging me since it happened, yes I probably do need to get a life!

ConfusedHmm

Sparklingbrook · 29/05/2022 13:16

Huh?

PurpleDaisies · 29/05/2022 13:16

You don’t honestly think she’ll see this?

HereIAmBrainTheSizeOfAPlanet · 29/05/2022 13:17

Come again?

DisgruntledPelican · 29/05/2022 13:18

On the one hand I would bristle if a man did this with me; on the other hand, I am the queen of maintaining eye contact with dog owners until they start making moves towards clearing it up. I wouldn’t make a snarky remark, though.

Ahlola · 29/05/2022 13:18

She probably knows her husband is a twat and was waiting on you leaving so she could facilitate his watery death.

ABrotherWhoLooksLikeHellMugYou · 29/05/2022 13:19

I don't get it...

squashyhat · 29/05/2022 13:20

I would have effusively thanked him for reminding me of my civic duty in such a helpful way. Or thrown it at him.

stuntbubbles · 29/05/2022 13:20

Could you try that again but less nonsensical?

IncompleteSenten · 29/05/2022 13:22

He sounds like a twat. Imagine being married to that.
I bet he puffed up and boasted to her that you only picked it up cos of him.

Good choice indeed. Patronising twat.

Springsnow22 · 29/05/2022 13:22

so honestly it is a slightly cringey OP (sorry @Dogsaresomucheasier ) but it’s not as hard to understand as people are making out.

Woman is walking round lake with husband / partner and toddlers. OP is walking her dog. Dog has a poo. The DH/DP starts being officious and bossy ensuring the OP clears it up.

failing40s · 29/05/2022 13:24

A man was patronising to OP when she was walking her dog. OP is imagining telling patronising man's wife that he's a bit of a dick.

Agree with you OP, he probably wouldn't have said it to a man. I bet the wife knows, deep down.

IncompleteSenten · 29/05/2022 13:24

Op was walking her dog.

Man, woman and two young children also walking.

Ops dog took a shit.

Man stopped to supervise.

Op picked up the shit.

Man said "good choice".

VerifiedBot2351 · 29/05/2022 13:25

You should have asked him if he wanted to pick it up himself.

Solosunrise · 29/05/2022 13:25

Perfectly sensible post, and I agree with you @Dogsaresomucheasier

girlmom21 · 29/05/2022 13:26

Why didn't you just tell him you don't need him to supervise you rather than writing a cryptic puzzle here?

CrackedHeggs · 29/05/2022 13:26

It's very obvious that the woman's DP stopped to enforce OP picked up a dog shit and offered her a passive aggressive 'good choice' when she picked up said shit, which had nothing to do with his policing.

Friedaseyebrow · 29/05/2022 13:27

Am I reading it correctly that you are pissed off with a patronising man but are choosing to blame the female partner for not schooling him correctly on sexism?

Hardbackwriter · 29/05/2022 13:29

You're right, sexism is everywhere. Like women holding other women responsible and scolding them if their male partner does something prattish.

Sunshine1235 · 29/05/2022 13:29

Why is this addressed to the women? Given that neither of them are likely to ever see this then why not address the man directly in your post, it’s not her job to nanny him

RestingMurderousFace · 29/05/2022 13:29

squashyhat · 29/05/2022 13:20

Thrown it, definitely thrown it.

LisaSimpson1984 · 29/05/2022 13:29

Meh. Many dog owners need to do better in this area and others. If people are getting snarky, I think it’s quite understandable.

Took my kids to the park this morning. Big pile of dog poo right at the bottom of the slide. Sure the OP isn’t responsible for the actions of individual dog owners but many people are sick to death of it.

Devotedcatslave · 29/05/2022 13:29

This is exactly what I was about to say! How is the woman in any way responsible for this? You could just as easily say if he'd been walking with another man would you have felt the need to aim your comment at them?

BarbaraWoodlouse · 29/05/2022 13:31

I’m a bit under caffeinated but “LT”?

I got the rest 😃

BlanketsBanned · 29/05/2022 13:32

Whats the wife and toddlers got to do with it. A bit of a twat said good choice when you picked up your dog poo. It was a good choice, many people dont bother.
