Dear lady walking around the lake with your delightful toddlers

You know when there is a bit of a pile on here where someone mentions sexism and everyone else insists their partner would never dream of xyz?

I’d really like to think you’ve had a word with yours!

My dog stopped to relieve himself while on our walk. I would never dream of doing anything other than picking up his waste and I can manage that without an audience.

I’m 5ft and female walking a breed of dog typically thought of as a good family pet. If you or your partner are labouring under the delusion he would have stopped to supervise a man and make sure he was a responsible dog owner, or remark,
”good choice” when I turned out to be so and he missed out on his civilian law enforcement moment, I rather suspect you are mistaken.

NAMALT-but yours is!

Yes this has been bugging me since it happened, yes I probably do need to get a life!

OP posts:

Correct response was " Your child has wet its pants/needs that saggy nappy changed"

Was his "Good choice" a remark about your non-pitbull beardog type of canine companion?.

Judging by the OP, surely that would be the woman's issue to sort? Grin

DontPickTheFlowers · 29/05/2022 14:25

What an arse

LaBellina · 29/05/2022 14:25

Why is this directed at the wife? He was being a dick not her. I hope you told him to go fuck himself.

HotDogKetchup · 29/05/2022 14:29

This could easily be my father in law. He is condescending in this was all the time.

Just10moreminutesplease · 29/05/2022 14:29

Why are you directing your annoyance with a man to his wife? Surely she’s not responsible for his behaviour?

For what it’s worth, I’ve been known to watch people pick up their dog poo in my local area because it’s gross when I roll over it with the pram, and very few people walk off if they have an audience.

If he said good choice in a threatening manner, he was obviously unreasonable (he was unreasonable, not his wife). If he said it in a pleasant tone, I’d assume they’d already witnessed a few people leave their dog’s mess behind and was genuinely expressing that he was pleased you’d picked it up and his toddlers weren’t about to stand in it.

DonnaRhea · 29/05/2022 14:29

whats happening today? So many odd posts
its fabulous 🤣

liveforsummer · 29/05/2022 14:30

I don't know why so many are struggling with this post. Reading comprehension is ever poor on mumsnet though so shouldn't be surprised I suppose. I do agree though that this should be directed ti the man in question. It's not the woman's fault he behaved like a dick!

worraliberty · 29/05/2022 14:32

I need to stop reading the OP because I've just realised I don't know what the OP's height or the breed of dog has to do with anything either 👀😂

Nocutenamesleft · 29/05/2022 14:32

Friedaseyebrow · 29/05/2022 13:27

Am I reading it correctly that you are pissed off with a patronising man but are choosing to blame the female partner for not schooling him correctly on sexism?

Slightly ironic really

telling her the man has the issue and suggesting his wife sorts him out!

m what’s his wife got to do with anything?!?

yesthatisdrizzle · 29/05/2022 14:33

I hear you OP.

Probably the same sort of man who says 'well done' to a woman who has achieved the task of parallel-parking her car.

GrinAndVomit · 29/05/2022 14:34

I’d have looked at the wife, nodded towards the husband and said “Poor choice”

Sparklingbrook · 29/05/2022 14:35

I think there was a lot of irrelevant info, which distracted from the salient points which could have been summarised more clearly in fewer words.

DonnaRhea · 29/05/2022 14:36

you should have asked him if you got a sticker 😆

ilikemethewayiam · 29/05/2022 14:37

LisaSimpson1984 · 29/05/2022 13:54

Perhaps he’d just spent the last 10 mins scraping dog poo from the bottom of said delightful toddler’s shoe?

And that’s got what to do with OP?

pixie5121 · 29/05/2022 14:39

ElenaSt · 29/05/2022 13:39

What a load of tosh!

Why is your height relevant?

Who cares what anyone says or thinks, you're clearing up after your dog, that's all you need to concentrate on.

If you don't like how someone has spoken directly to you or indirectly about you then tell them to fuck of.

Because twats like this NEVER say anything to men. They would never make a sarcastic, patronising remark to a man in case they got decked. So they go around doing it to women, knowing that they're a much easier target.

xcvmnmb · 29/05/2022 14:40

OP, even your reply is peculiarly constipated.

I still don't know what your height has to do with anything, either.

It's baffling all round.

Love it! 😂

concernedreracistelement · 29/05/2022 14:42

Torn between 'I knew you'd like it', and “thank you random man”

girlmom21 · 29/05/2022 14:42

yesthatisdrizzle · 29/05/2022 14:33

I hear you OP.

Probably the same sort of man who says 'well done' to a woman who has achieved the task of parallel-parking her car.

I think people deserve congratulations when they parallel park well. Some days I do it first time with no fuss, other days I give up and park elsewhere Grin

I think the OP's height is relevant as it can be more intimidating to be approached by someone significantly larger than you. A man might also think twice about doing the same to a broad 6'2 woman. Re the dog I guess someone with a less family friendly dog might be stereotyped as a less responsible dog owner?

HonorOakWifeOfGabriel · 29/05/2022 14:47

liveforsummer I am also 5 foot and it's snowflakery of anyone who's short to claim that they feel intimidated per se as a result of it. A five foot woman can be a whole lot more intimidating than a 6 foot man at times.

But it's not relevant because the OP hasn't mentioned the man's height.

There are loads of men around who are the same height as the OP, or just a couple of inches taller.

TalkingCat · 29/05/2022 14:49

OP can you write out your post again? I can't make head or tails of what your thread is about. First you mention a lady walking around a lake.

Then you talk about your dog.

Then you mention your partner, or is it hers?
