You know when there is a bit of a pile on here where someone mentions sexism and everyone else insists their partner would never dream of xyz?

I’d really like to think you’ve had a word with yours!

My dog stopped to relieve himself while on our walk. I would never dream of doing anything other than picking up his waste and I can manage that without an audience.

I’m 5ft and female walking a breed of dog typically thought of as a good family pet. If you or your partner are labouring under the delusion he would have stopped to supervise a man and make sure he was a responsible dog owner, or remark,
”good choice” when I turned out to be so and he missed out on his civilian law enforcement moment, I rather suspect you are mistaken.

NAMALT-but yours is!

Yes this has been bugging me since it happened, yes I probably do need to get a life!

OP posts:
HereIAmBrainTheSizeOfAPlanet · 29/05/2022 18:43

firstly with a sense of irony, in a “sort ‘I’m out, love!” sort of way

Yep, that clears that up. Confused

because so many women on here claim to have partners who are enlightened yet here was a family unit where daddy, and someone’s dh, was objectionably sexist

Maybe this woman doesn't claim her partner is enlightened?

Springsnow22 · 29/05/2022 19:04

I’m finding it so odd that some of you are so affronted by it, I must admit Hmm

grapehyacinthisactuallyblue · 29/05/2022 19:09

So, you see one man who are not like the man described by many MNetters, and think we are all lying? What is your point?

SaySomethingMan · 29/05/2022 19:15

They’re probably just sick of idiotic, irresponsible dog owners not picking up after their dogs. I don’t think it’s got anything to do with you being short or a woman.

NursieBernard · 29/05/2022 19:43

Why the fuck are you addressing this to his wife like she's responsible for his actions.

Reallyreallyborednow · 29/05/2022 19:47

“It wasn’t a choice. Dog shits, i pick it up. Not optional. Why do think it is?”

DonnaRhea · 29/05/2022 20:18

Bloody hell @Dogsaresomucheasier , I bet you’re really glad you started this now
I enjoyed it anyway 👍

Johnnysgirl · 29/05/2022 21:42

“It wasn’t a choice. Dog shits, i pick it up. Not optional. Why do think it is?”

Yes, a snappy retort like that would definitely show him who's boss.

surreygirl1987 · 30/05/2022 18:18

You are clearly ridiculous. Yes, I agree you need to get a life!

IncompleteSenten · 30/05/2022 18:23

"Secondly because so many women on here claim to have partners who are enlightened yet here was a family unit where daddy, and someone’s dh, was objectionably sexist without a second thought. "

Have you never read the relationship board?

Far far more women with men who do fuck all in the home or with the kids and clearly think it's the woman's job and announce putting their cup in the dishwasher like they deserve a trophy and a standing ovation.

Bigbluebikerider · 30/05/2022 18:44

Wtf ARE you talking about?

ReadtheReviews · 30/05/2022 18:58

Perfect 'thanks for your comment, random man' moment.
Had one the other day taking my 20m old swimming in armbands. Other parents doing class with their babies. no armbands tho they use floats later one. One dad 'Oh no, the dreaded armbands of doom!!' Hahaha, go fuck yourself.

Trifecta · 30/05/2022 19:15

I can’t stay silent when anyone, male or female, talks down to me. I would have told that #@*+&$! that it’s unfortunate HE didn’t make a good choice and kept his mouth shut.

OldGreyAppleFence · 30/05/2022 19:17

You lost me at labouring under the delusion!

fruitbrewhaha · 30/05/2022 19:29

Uh, but why is it up to the "lady" to police her twat of a husband. For all you know it may not have been her DH anyway. Could have been her brother. In any event, write your missive to the twat not the poor woman by his side.

MrsLighthouse · 30/05/2022 19:40

This is kind of a non post …badly described. Surely most of us would just roll their eyes ?

Emmelina · 30/05/2022 19:46

This is definitely the kind of thing that belongs on your local NextDoor, op.

Twentypast · 30/05/2022 20:08

I've had the same. I replied that I'd hardly be walking around with a pocket full of poo and not pick up.

I did wonder at the time if he'd say the same to a 6ft man with a bully type breed or only 5ft women with fluffy dogs.

Twentypast · 30/05/2022 20:08

Argggh poo BAGS!

speakout · 30/05/2022 20:15

Hardbackwriter · 29/05/2022 13:29

You're right, sexism is everywhere. Like women holding other women responsible and scolding them if their male partner does something prattish.

Agreed.

Craftycorvid · 30/05/2022 20:18

His was a brave choice of remark to make to a woman with a bag of shit in her hand and a (justifiable) grudge.

tillytown · 30/05/2022 20:22

OP, women aren't responsible for mens accounts. If you have a problem with a man talk about/to him, not the nearest women he knows.

Kteeb1 · 30/05/2022 20:22

Wow I can't believe what I've just read. Man does something twattish. Woman gets held accountable. I've read some nonsense on mumsnet in my time but this has to be in the top 5.

Dashdotdotdash · 30/05/2022 20:31

stuntbubbles · 29/05/2022 13:20

Could you try that again but less nonsensical?

It's perfectly clear. Do you have comprehension problems?

Dashdotdotdash · 30/05/2022 20:34

I must say, if DH had behaved like that I would have been mortified and would probably have ended up apologising for him. Before I kicked him into the lake.
