£1.25m and didn’t move the clothes horse

Probably some of the most unflattering estate agent photos I’ve ever seen…no show pineapple here!
For £1.25m, why oh why didn’t they move the clothes horse and coats?

God only knows!!! 🤣
horrible dated decor too!

Honeyroar · 25/05/2022 23:47

And the rest! I guess it’s location/size of house and people will see it needs, erm, lots of work!

Haydugee · 25/05/2022 23:49

They clearly don’t want to sell 😂.

Im curious about the view. There are so many curtains.

Ncwinc · 25/05/2022 23:49

Look at the pictures. It’s easy enough to see what is happening/has happened. This is an unpleasant thread.

CherryMaple · 25/05/2022 23:50

When my friend was trying to sell her parents’ house, they had dementia and wouldn’t let her tidy. Could be the vendors have health issues - not that ‘they couldn’t be bothered….’

PickAChew · 25/05/2022 23:52

The commode in the bedroom is a bit of a giveaway that it's dated because it's owners are/were. Likely a probate sale.

What do you mean?
I would have thought someone would move the clothes horse at least for the photo.

Sarah68tinker · 25/05/2022 23:57

There is a hospital gown on the airer, must be someone with poor health. This does seem intrusive though

My thoughts exactly. Forced sale ?

HereLiveIAmNotACat · 25/05/2022 23:57

What a vile thread to start- let’s all bash this elderly persons house for no reason whatsoever..

Christ it’s a clothes horse it’s hardly going to affect any future buyer.

I do hope the family/neighbours are not on here to see your ridicule..

Musicalmaestro · 25/05/2022 23:58

It’s in Hertfordshire, I’m sure it will sell.

RunningFromInsanity · 25/05/2022 23:58

It would take seconds to remove the jumpers from the backs of the chairs, or kick the children toys behind the photographer.

BornBlonde · 26/05/2022 00:00

I thought it was over prices until I realised it comes with a pile of jackets and dirty dishes Confused

Saz12 · 26/05/2022 00:04

I’d imagine the carers haven’t time to stage EA pictures.

Though it’s disappointing that the EA don’t move obvious things

Hoolahulahoop · 26/05/2022 00:04

I agree. This is not the owners fault but the agents. Disrespectful not to take few moments to put the airer away and so on. Lovely home once you put your own stamp on it.

Lolliepoppie · 26/05/2022 00:06

To be clear this is not a dig at the owners (most people have airers etc).

It was marvelling that the estate agents chose to take a photo of a prominent and fully loaded clothes horse when marketing such an expensive property.

It may indeed have had an infirm person living there but there are plenty of signs of other occupants.
The photos are awful even without the contents.

BarbaraofSeville · 26/05/2022 06:09

The photographer likes taking pictures of cables going into the back of all the screens don't they?

I'm thinking that a working age person has moved in to look after an aged/ill parent, who's now passed away or is going into a home, but I agree that they could make a lot more effort with the photographs, even though I'm usually the first to say 'FFS you do know that the airer and mahogany furniture isn't part of the sale, what does it matter'.

But there has been several recent sales of detached properties for well above £1M in the area, so it's probably priced appropriately. Under all the pelmets it's fairly neutrally decorated and in reasonable condition, so the new buyer could just refurbish/decorate to their own taste in their own time. It's not compulsory to immediately gut and modernise on moving in.

00100001 · 26/05/2022 06:11

Will get sold quickly in Potters Bar.

Ylvamoon · 26/05/2022 06:20

If I was the owner/ seller of the property, I'd make the EA re take the photos.
For that price and commission they can spend a few exra minutes here and there to make the property look tidy.
I agree, it is intrusive and insensitive.

Oblomov22 · 26/05/2022 06:23

Ha ha.
Agree the decor is so dated. All vile.

This

LetitiaLeghorn · 26/05/2022 06:27

My takeaway would be for a 1.25m house, there's not enough storage otherwise there wouldn't be stuff lying around in all the bedrooms.
