Essex people and Dubai

Why Does everyone From Essex always seem to go on holiday to Dubai?
it's so common now it's become tacky. On a serious note tho, it's a concrete jungle. If you want sun and beach why not go to The Carribean for example!?

for the record I’m not from Essex but I’ve lived there for 25 years. It’s a very interesting and diverse county with it’s fair share of classy people and places. HTH.

im in Yorkshire and know plenty of people here who have been to Dubai and love it. It’s not somewhere that I’d go for various reasons but know people who love going.

I am from Essex and so are all my family and friends. I don't know a single person who has gone there.

North West and going to Dubai in feb with the kids cant wait.

My eldest dd lives there. I go because the the hotel we stay in is fantastic and the food is always brilliant. Slides in the pool for the kids and the beach isn't far.

I'm just back from a week in Dubai - had a fabulous time. I've had a very rough few months so we splashed out on a lovely hotel, really enjoyed the luxurious surroundings. Had a great time and will definitely be back.

OP, As someone who has lived in Essex a good 20 years, I'm trying to work out if I can be arsed to write a long answer pointing out how vile, goady and incredibly ill-informed your original post is - or whether I should just tell you to eff right off.

@Petrifiedtossed really? The only people I know that go there are all ex public school and visit their (many) school friends that live there.
