Nat6999 · 22/05/2022 01:00

The Jam All mod cons

AgeingDoc · 22/05/2022 01:02

I don't have one favourite album but my most listened to at present is Stevie Ray Vaughan's Texas Flood.
Other stand outs for me are Dire Straits Making Movies, both the Guns N Roses Use Your Illusion albums and The Verve, Urban Hymns.

DirectionToPerfection · 22/05/2022 01:03

The Libertines - Up The Bracket

Stereophonics - Word Gets Around

JuneOsborne · 22/05/2022 01:07

Agree with so many of these. Alanis Morisette, oasis, Carol along, REM, Amy Winehouse, Massive Attack, Pulp.

Gonna throw Sgt Peppers into the ring. As an album, it's amazing.

And, some classic Madonna. Ray of Light, Like a Prayer, True Blue.

JuneOsborne · 22/05/2022 01:08

And, if you haven't listened to the Tesky Brothers, check them out. A new classic (but I can't choose between either album!)

I'm going to add Moon Safari by Air too. God knows how many times I've listened to that.

And Paris 1919 - John Cale.

LOVE that Air album too.

ValBiro · 22/05/2022 01:12

Grace - Jeff Buckley

Abbey Road - The Beatles

ODFOx · 22/05/2022 01:14

One is far too few:
The Bones by Rusty Shackle is a stunning singalong album.
The Real Thing by Faith No More was ground breaking of its time.
Pretty Hate Machine by NIN still raises the hairs on the back of my neck
DH says 'Led Zeppelin 3 but there's no such thing as 'the best album' as there are so many great ones.'
I have been dancing in the kitchen with DC to These Streets by Paulo Nutini for over 15 years (it's on a CD).
All of these could be the best album ever (along with several that pps have already listed)

Fleetwood Mac, Rumours

Amy Winehouse, Back to Black

Yes!

I was delighted when my DS told me he had been listening to Fleetwood Mac a couple of weeks ago. I did something right.

Confuseddotcombo · 22/05/2022 01:17

Agree with many (especially Rumours) but also…..

Legend- Bo Marley

Sgt Pepper - Beatles (and any after Rubber Soul

Graceland- Paul Simon

Blue - Joni Mitchell

Ziggy Stardust - David Bowie

Pet Sounds - Beach Boys

…. All absolutely phenomenal albums

romany4 · 22/05/2022 01:27

Queen...News of the World
Trex..Electric Warrior or The Slider...love both of them
The Who..The Who by Numbers
The Sweet..Desolation Boulevard

Confuseddotcombo · 22/05/2022 01:28

hugoagogo · 22/05/2022 01:38

Placebo

Marchitectmummy · 22/05/2022 01:48

Screamadelica Primal Scream
Blue Lines is already mentioned so I'll go with Minutes to Midnight Linkin Park

Or True Blue Madonna

Furries · 22/05/2022 01:50

BeatriceDalle · 22/05/2022 00:28

Massive Attack - Blue Lines

Definitely!

Leftism by Leftfield.

Rumours is a great call.

Furries · 22/05/2022 01:54

Michael Jackson’s Thriller. Obviously not a popular choice, but can’t deny the music.

waterlego · 22/05/2022 01:57

Different Class is a fucking brilliant album and part of the soundtrack of my youth. All neg with ‘This is Hardcore’ (Pulp), ‘Urban Hymns’ (The Verve) and ‘OK Computer’ (Radiohead).

TooManyPJs · 22/05/2022 02:42

The Stone Roses.

Leafsontheline · 22/05/2022 02:46

I’m going to add Simon and Garfunkel, The Jam and David Bowie to my best ever list.. thanks for the reminder!
