The great "who-dunnit"! Whose side are you on and why?

I support Coleen’s case. From the evidence, or in Rebekah’s case, the astonishing coincidences of missing evidence, I’m of the belief that she’s at the very least the supplier of information and instigator of the leaks for publication.
Unlike the previous ruling I also believe that the account holder is ultimately responsible for their own social media unless there’s a proven security breach. Pointing the finger at a fall guy doesn’t wash for me.

ConnieSaks · 29/07/2022 09:24

As grateful as I am to Vardy for launching this case, I hope the verdict provides a ‘win’ for Rooney only.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 29/07/2022 12:08

Well done Colleen !

ConnieSaks · 29/07/2022 12:11

I’m in - only 75 pages to digest and enjoy 😉

Nanasueathome · 29/07/2022 12:16

Yessssssss

SpindleInTheWind · 29/07/2022 12:23

Seems like a fair verdict. To rule any other way would have seemed perverse, given the behaviour of Vardy around making evidence available.

Anyone reading the full judgement? Bet it's a cracker Grin

ChicCroissant · 29/07/2022 13:51

I should be taking notes on the Judge's tactful use of language in relation to Vardy's evidence, she clearly didn't believe a word of it!

I may use the self-deception concept about someone even if it's just in my head the next time someone comes out with an obvious lie,.

I'm looking forward to reading the judgement!

I know it's been said before, many times - but WTF was Vardy thinking when she issued Court proceedings?! That level of self-deception is off the scale!

ChicCroissant · 29/07/2022 13:58

The Judge did rightly highlight that regardless of Vardy's guilt over leaking the stores, the abuse that she was subjected to on social media was unwarranted - I hope the media pick that point up along with all of the rest.

ConnieSaks · 29/07/2022 14:03

@SpindleInTheWind - I’ve just finished reading it. Yes it is very clear! Can particularly recommend paras 41, 42, 47, 48, & 50 re Vardy & Watts); 50 (re Mother Colleen of Croxteth); para 69 (Watt phone); 83 (re Wayne) and 91 (UEFA incident). Also para 186 referencing Vardy’s ‘misplaced indignation’. Happy to have read it all mind - very fair - I (almost) feel sorry for Vardy - she is clearly delusional - not sure what her legal team were thinking!

EmeraldShamrock1 · 29/07/2022 14:08

Definitely a fair verdict IMO.

Vardy was delusional by thinking she had a case - maybe she should have dropped her mobile into the oceans too.

nauticant · 29/07/2022 14:12

I'd bet money that RV's legal team advised her a number of times not to proceed but said ultimately it's her choice and when she instructed them to proceed, all they could do was make the best of the case. I'd imagine when one episode of evidence destruction followed another, the advice cautioning against continuing became unusually explicit.

ConnieSaks · 29/07/2022 17:25

@nauticant yes I’m sure they did too and it fell on very deaf ears and Vardy has only herself to blame! I would love to know details of the settlements offered!

balalake · 29/07/2022 18:09

I'm on the side of the person who can get the law changed so there is an alternative to libel so that when people on a low income are wronged by a false allegation there is a legal redress that does not cost more than most people's houses.

According to Rooneys lawyer on R2 this am settlement was offered 4 times before the case went court. Not over yet. Consequentials are involved 're the Sun, journalists etc. Vardy poss looking at a 2 million pound bill. Good report in the Guardian today

burnoutbabe · 30/07/2022 10:11

I assume any settlement didn't actually agree that Rooney would say she was wrong?

Which is really what the dispute was about.

nauticant · 30/07/2022 12:21

My guess would be several offers of variations on a drop hands settlement from Rooney's side with Vardy only being willing to settle if there was a grovelling apology. There was no space in-between for settlement to occur, but having won, Rooney is getting unbeatable PR by referring to the settlement offers.

ConnieSaks · 30/07/2022 13:49

@Pedallleur yes I heard the interview this morning but he was ‘not at liberty to divulge any details’! I also agree re The Guardian - in particular, the Hadley article was (as usual) spot on.

Rumours suggest any financial settlement involved money to charity - no idea if any truth to this though?

Reallenow · 30/07/2022 15:09

I think RV throwing her friend under the bus to save her own reputation is also appalling. She was clearly complicit with the friend, at the very least.

She is also fairly obviously the Sun’s secret wag.

Deathraystare · 30/07/2022 15:10

They are two of the stupidest women!

Who cares about the imbeciles! They have too much time on their hands and should get a proper job or do some charity work!

You care enough to comment.

EmeraldShamrock1 · 02/08/2022 18:12

Colleen's popularity has definitely shot up.

She seems like a really genuine person unlike RV who is the opposite in every way.

RV is fake crying in her latest interview - to late for crocodile tears, she should have some dignity and keep her head down so her DC don't have to be embarrassed any further.

Watapalava · 02/08/2022 18:15

Not done either of them favours imo

both chavs

Kez200 · 02/08/2022 19:36

Colleen has gone right up in my opinion. Cool, calm and collected. Above all honest and with integrity.

Quite rare, actually

In which way did Colleen act like a <<insert your disgusting word here>> or is it because she came from a council estate?
