I just used a nose spray as I was so bunged up. That crackly feeling all up my tubes was just lovely and now I can breathe again.

Also having a poo when you have been desperate is one of the best feelings too 😊

Oh yes - I had this once, and it was so so painful. The anaesthetic drops worked immediately.

Same. I once had a corneal ulcer from a scratch to my eye. It was the most painful thing in the world- my eyeball felt simultaneously itchy yet also agony, as if someone had burnt it, it felt like I wanted to scratch my own eye out. The relief when the eye doc gave me anaesthetic drops was almost orgasmic - I actually told her I wanted to hug her lol. Then she gave me this tube of steroid eye cream to take home and I guarded that tube as if I was Gollum and it was precious!

When they gave me a sedative to reposition my dislocated broken shoulder after 4 hours agony. The feeling of drifting away. That white stuff in the drip - I think I told the guy administering it that I loved him when I woke up

The feeling when you get off the plane when going on holiday. The hit of warm air and the thought of the start of a lovely holiday is so amazing . 🏖

I can think of a few, some gross though! I had sinusitis once and the pain in my head/face was awful for a couple of weeks, it just wouldn't shift then one day in the shower I blew my nose and the most marvellous giant monster of snot came flying out relieving me of my pain instantly, it was immense.

When I was having my third child I'd been in labour for days in agony, he wouldn't come out so I was taken for a spinal and forceps. They did the spinal and after a few mins it started to work, I went from screaming, shouting demon woman to this zen like creature, I felt amazing. The feeling of the pain draining away, it was like I'd been transported to an island with cocktails. I kept apologising to the room for the screaming I'd just been doing, my husband could hear me down the corridor before they brought him in!

An epidural during childbirth and regaining your appetite after a bout of food poisoning or other gastric illness

ImprobablePuffin · 06/05/2022 08:58

I know you're not supposed to but when inside of your ear is itching and you give it a little scratch with a cotton bud. It's such a nice feeling but always makes me sneeze.

Also getting ears syringed is bliss.

Leftbutcameback · 06/05/2022 08:59

When a really itchy scab comes off (by itself and when it’s ready!)

gluenotsoup · 06/05/2022 09:07

The deep, intense, restful quality of the sleep you have in the first day or two of having given birth. It’s like no other type of sleep and it only lasts a little while - bliss.

ImprobablePuffin · 06/05/2022 11:03

The whoosh of warm air hitting your face when you get off a plane somewhere hotter than where you got on the plane.

ImprobablePuffin · 06/05/2022 11:04

And scratching the indents in your ankles when you take tight socks off.

veronicagoldberg · 06/05/2022 11:05

This is disgusting, but a good nose pick. One that starts with the removal of a crusty recalcitrant bit, then continues with hybrid sleek excavation of a long, wet bogey. So satisfying.

Taking shoes and socks off and getting all the sock fluff out from between your toes, after a busy day with lots of walking.

My DS is 6 and LOVES doing this!

Being 'freed' from an episode of sleep paralysis.

Omg yes! This 👌🏼

Having the back of my knees tickled/stroked. I make DH do it all the time, it's heaven.

Yes this. I also like the soles of my feet and my calves tickled. Bliss!

5thHelena · 06/05/2022 19:17

I absolutely love having my ears waxed at the surgery. When everything starts popping and you can hear again and the lumps of wax are hitting the metal cup thing. Best feeling ever!

My ear drum bursting today after two days of hell. Sweet sweet relief

When a really itchy scab comes off (by itself and when it’s ready!)

Picking at a scab when it's risky and you don't know if it's ready, and then it comes off perfectly!

OhWifey · 06/05/2022 21:46

@emaline83 amazing! I just discovered the scalding hot water on eczema hands today and even though I know it will be terrible for the skin, I just want to do it again and again.

Like PPs, the relief when a migraine lifts and you can commence life again.

When I was pregnant both times I couldn't lie on my back without an awful feeling of impending doom. Lying on my back straight after birth was almost better relief than birthing the baby. 4 years on I still relish the ability to lie on my back.

The almost orgasmic relief of running eczema covered hands under a too hot, almost scalding tap. When you get the temp just right the relief is incredible and lasts for ages. Terrible for skin but sometimes when I can't sleep for the itch and pain, it's the best thing ever.

Try Eurax cream! It kills the itch for 10 hours. Also, Loratadine! Sold as Puriton but some types of Puriton have a different ingredient so make sure it's the Loratadine one! I use it when I have those times where I'm itchy all over my body. The relief!

SucculentSunshine · 06/05/2022 22:06

Straightening up a twisted bra strap to only realise the relief once it’s been moved.

eye drops in dry eyes.

that feeling when you submerse yourself in pool water. Especially in a hot country and the water is cool. You feel it completely surround every part of you as the water cools you. Bliss.

Brushing the final few knots out of my hair.

When you’ve had a cold and you are finally able to clear the horrid thick mucous from, what feels like your brain! Ah the relief.

SucculentSunshine · 06/05/2022 22:09

I also remember that enjoyable pain of having braces and biting down to relieve the soreness. I still occasionally bite down hard now and love that feeling of pressure in my teeth and gums.

planetme · 08/05/2022 19:43

Has anyone said when you have pins and needles from sitting in the same position or something then you move and the affected part returns to normal ? I love it 😍

SarahAndQuack · 08/05/2022 19:52

Absolutely that ovarian cyst relief! Mine was mahoosive (and I got a lot of sympathy when they did the pre-op scan). Afterwards they told me I could stay in and get a morphine drip overnight and, stupidly, I felt so good I insisted on going back home. I did suffer later but it says a lot for the sheer relief!

Also: when you have a bad cold and can't taste anything, then you feel all better and ravenously hungry but still can't taste anything ... and then you get it back again. That is amazing!

And ... is this just me? When you cut your nails that were getting too long. Such a nice feeling.

XenoBitch · 08/05/2022 19:54

I like the feeling of my meds kicking in and making me sleepy.
