I just used a nose spray as I was so bunged up. That crackly feeling all up my tubes was just lovely and now I can breathe again.

Also having a poo when you have been desperate is one of the best feelings too 😊

When I wake up when the alarm goes off at 6.15 and not at sodding 1.30am.

Foolsrule · 05/05/2022 22:32

*couldn’t

Oh and not a usual one but about 16 years ago I had meningitis. The pain was indescribable (and I've given birth without pain relief before so I'm pretty hard!).

The nurse gave me IV morphine and I swear it was like I had just laid back on softest pillow of a pain free cloud. It was incredible. Can totally see how people get addicted!

I used to have terrible period pain, pre children. As a teenager I worked out a way of ‘deadening’ the feeling from my body - slowly, from the toes up, if I really concentrated and didn’t move. Such relief when I managed to move it up past my middle, and the pain went away.

When you are very hungover and you get the drink of water you were too lazy to get out of bed and get and your dehydrated self guzzles it

Nosetickle · 05/05/2022 22:40

Getting into bed on a cold evening with the electric blanket on, ahhhh

Leftbutcameback · 05/05/2022 22:40

If you have travel / sea sickness the moment you are on solid ground and it immediately goes away!

Please excuse the essay!
I have severe osteoarthritis in almost all of my body. My feet especially are horrendously painful. At the turn of the year I had a trapped nerve in my hip, put the foot pain into the category of a little itch.

Luckily a combination of correct drugs and physiotherapy helped me through.
However I knew I needed to reduce the pain meds as they are highly addictive. My GP and I worked out a programme and gradually I stopped the higher doses.
At the lowest dosage sadly the pain returned and it was just as dreadful as I remembered. My lovely GP upped the dose and said we will look at it in future.

Recently I found a pair of sandals in a charity shop that fit perfectly and feel like walking on air, a sensation I had forgotten existed.

Today I was coming home on the bus when I realised with a shock that nothing hurt! No part of me was sore or aching or throbbing or even uncomfortable.☺️
I sat there and thoroughly enjoyed it while it lasted, probably about a hour and a half of pain free bliss! 💖

When ovarian cyst pain finally goes away. Such a good feeling.

Amen. I'd never realised how much I took sitting for granted...

When your migraine finally goes away 🙂

Yes....when it finally cracks.. Especially when it's one of the bad ones when you can't remember when you last didn't have a crushing pain in your head....

HisHX · 05/05/2022 22:44

I don’t know if this is a normal thing, but sometimes I cannot complete a yawn for days on end. I think it’s when I’m stressed. But it’s so frustrating! When I finally do a full yawn it feels soooo good. Anyone else have this?

Leftbutcameback · 05/05/2022 22:45

@Blessmyears yep, that weird heat thing. So strange and such a relief when it goes. I've been hanging into the radiator in the bathroom in pain, worried I was going to pull it off the wall!

Having an itchy back scratched.

Especially when dd has had her nails done 💅 feels amazing !!

Yes, this!

soupmaker · 05/05/2022 22:45

That moment when baby pops out and the excruciating pain ceases.

Walking up with horrific 3 day sinus pain gone after the antibiotics kick in.

Ear popping after a swim.

Squiff70 · 05/05/2022 22:46

Being 'freed' from an episode of sleep paralysis.

Blind spots finally erupting. The squeeze hurts but the relief from your skin no longer being stretched is immense. Pooing just minutes after a glycerin suppository. Scratching off built up dried scalp. Also back in the office, air con causes incredible bogies. I have a coarse hair that has grown out of my chin for years. If I don't have my tweezers on me when I feel the regrow which is like plastic then I'm demented until I can finally tug at it and remove. Cutting my toenails.

PriestessofPing · 05/05/2022 22:49

When you’ve been sitting a lot at work or driving and you do some really deep stretches for the back of the legs and hips. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I have the opposite. I yawn constantly and every time I yawn, my eyes water which makes my nose run so then I look like my face is melting and then my eyes itch so they water more and-

Repeat ad nauseam.

Running roasting hot water over my numb Raynaud's hands ♥️

GlitterDragon · 05/05/2022 22:54

The smell of a bbq when you are hungry. Or squeezing a blackhead.

Sillystripytail · 05/05/2022 22:56

Having the back of my knees tickled/stroked. I make DH do it all the time, it's heaven.

This sounds dramatic but the day I had a hysterectomy I cried in the morning, thinking I will never have another period, flood, period pain or PMT. I had my first period when I was 10 so had 35 years of it. I literally was smiling when I went under. Woke up to just a happy feeling. Happiest day of my life, included my wedding and 3 children.

It took six weeks for me... but I could have kissed the consultant at the post op check!

downbythewoods · 05/05/2022 23:02

Having a really good deep ear itch. With implements. Anything goes really, keys, pen lids... god I'm gross.

Same!! That meningitis pain is something I can’t describe to anyone and something I never want to feel again!
