I just used a nose spray as I was so bunged up. That crackly feeling all up my tubes was just lovely and now I can breathe again.

Also having a poo when you have been desperate is one of the best feelings too 😊

One of my worst experiences was having had an operation and going home and realising I couldn’t urinate. I’d managed to once in the hospital that afternoon so i assumed I’d be ok. Unfortunately that next day my parent was moving house and I was staying with her as I needed to be with someone because of the anaesthetic I’d had. So when I realised I couldn’t wee it was nighttime and there was nothing I could do. In hindsight I should have gone to a & e but we weren’t thinking straight. In the morning we contacted the drs and fortunately they managed to empty my bladder (1.5 litres of urine stuck inside) and I was fine then. Painful experience I certainly wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy!

OMG. I had this after my hip replacement. The pain of the op was nothing compared to the feeling of my bladder at bursting point and not being able to squeeze even a drop out! Thankfully, after lots of jabbing about, they managed to catheterise me and drain out nearly 2 litres. The relief was indescribable.

Once I had a severe and super painful ear infection. It hurt so bad and I could barely hear. I started antibiotics and in the night I literally heard them start working. Weird buzzy, crackly, tippy tap sounds as the inflammation just drained away taking the pain with it.

Never have I experienced anything like it before or since.

When I haven't shaved my legs for a few weeks through the winter then when I finally do, I get straight into clean bedding, swishing my legs around like two baby dolphins playing in a silky sea.
Also, when you've wore a dental brace for almost two years then finally get it removed for good 🙌

I've never heard of shaving your legs being described quite so poetically Grin

When you have a vomiting bug and you feel horrendously nauseous and are then sick, you temporarily feel amazing. Then the nausea starts building all over again.

Nope! I have a huge phobia of being sick. I always cry and feel traumatised afterwards and then spend the next hour praying I won't vomit again. I wish I could feel relief from it as feeling nauseous is shit too!

WhileMyMeringueGentlyWeeps · 05/05/2022 21:47

Tired and aching but you don't know how much until you get into a deep, hot bath and all aches and pains melt away.
Flushing your own ears with a rubber bulb thingy, suddenly hearing clearly again after days of thick dull sounds and most of all seeing that huge lump of dark ear wax swimming around in the basin. mmmmm

hugoagogo · 05/05/2022 21:47

Ear infection which caused a perforated ear drum-the worst pain followed by the most blessed relief.

BridesmaidPanic · 05/05/2022 21:49

As PP, the relief of a big wee when you're desperate.

Also, that lovely feeling when you're laying in the sun on holiday and you get a shivery feeling in the warm sunshine.

Oh - and bra off at the end of a long day. Bliss.

Yes, is for me too!

chimichangaz · 05/05/2022 21:52

I had a cold once which caused a lot of snot build up. I blew my nose (luckily I was on my own...) and the amount of snot that came out of one side of my nose was incredible. Left me with a face that felt 10 times lighter! And I didn't need to blow my nose again for a good few hours

LubaLuca · 05/05/2022 21:53

Using a neti pot for the very first time. My GP recommended it when I had sinus pain during pregnancy. I was in raptures with the relief, and seeing the ectoplasm dropping in to the sink was one of the best experiences of my entire life.

Youwiththeglasses · 05/05/2022 22:01

When I'd had hyperemesis for 7 weeks and suddenly the nausea went away. I've never felt so relieved. I hadn't eaten a meal for 7 weeks, and it was wonderful to have my appetite back and eat my first meal.

goodsturdygirl · 05/05/2022 22:03

I love all of these!! I will add a session with my osteopath. If I was rich I'd go every day! Feel like I'm floating in water for the rest of the day.

Crimeismymiddlename · 05/05/2022 22:05

The feeling after a really good poo, getting stitch’s removed-such a good pain, ear drops dissolving all the excess wax and popping a really big, painful, pussy about to erupt spot.

Dyra · 05/05/2022 22:07

Llamasally · 05/05/2022 21:34

bursting the spot and extracting am I growing hair….ooooh it’s just the best, especially if the hair has gone all spiralling and curly inside and you stretch it out when you pull it with the tweezers. Also as per PP BFing clearing a blocked duct and anything earwax

How did popping a painful spot take so long for someone to say?!

I also echo the: taking off your shoes at the end of a long day, earwax, milk ducts, epidural, pushing out a baby, and (especially) when you blow a blocked nose and all the solidified mucus comes out.

lollipoprainbow · 05/05/2022 22:13

When your migraine finally goes !!

NoEffingWay · 05/05/2022 22:13

This might be a strange one, but for me, it's when I have passed big clots during my period, that are excruciatingly painful because then it all fades away. It's like giving birth! PCOS periods can be a bit intense sometimes Shock

Squiff70 · 05/05/2022 22:19

How has nobody mentioned giving birth? After hours (or days) of labour and long periods of intense contractions and pushing, the baby finally pops out. All my babies were tiny but I still remember being spread-eagled on the bed absolutely physically and mentally floored by what just happened.

TakeMeToKernow · 05/05/2022 22:22

I think another PP mentioned the relief after a really strong period cramp.

Not strictly better, but during a produce I was given a sedative that felt like the most wonderful, warm, weight, comfy blanket. Amazing. 10/10 would recommend. Wish I knew what they gave me.

Minniem2020 · 05/05/2022 22:24

@Diversion yes!! I was coming on to say pretty much this. This was me 3 weeks ago. DS had got into an awkward position and after hours of trying to get him out I ended up with an emergency section. I will never forget the relief of being pain free after suffering for so long

Windypants21 · 05/05/2022 22:25

Being cold, and then getting into a hot shower ! Bliss. 😊or
Being wrapped in warm towel after a shower or bath.

Susurrar · 05/05/2022 22:28

When the painkillers kick in and period pain goes away. I’ve now got some prescription ones and I can feel the flooring pain fade away. When it’s gone, I feel like singing and dancing and kissing strangers in the street.

Foolsrule · 05/05/2022 22:29

Being able to lie on my stomach three nights after giving birth - I’d missed it when heavily pregnant! Could do it the first two nights as was still catheterised in the hospital.

FelicityBeedle · 05/05/2022 22:31

No one saying a good fart? Where it’s trapped right in your back passage and you just shift a little and the cherubs start trumpeting 😁
Or when you’re sitting down and and it gets sort of lost… you lift a leg slightly and it ripples it’s way free through the flaps

ValerieMorghulis · 05/05/2022 22:32

When you have a chesty cough and finally manage to cough up the alien that has been living down there. It feels like such a relief!

Also when your blood sugar has been low and you eat a biscuit. It’s an urgent feeling but you feel the sugar entering your system. Same with water when you’re dehydrated.

SuePerb7 · 05/05/2022 22:32

The first poo after my c-section, my tummy hurt so much both inside and out but the relief afterwards was something I don’t think I’ll ever experience again.
