The Whip is someone who keeps party discipline and makes them all behave, both in voting the party way and other things. The whip is also the right to vote on matters. Removing the whip is essentially kicking them out of the party, even temporarily.

There are various levels of whip.

Only thing missing was the argument that MPs have to represent all of society and some members of society are grotty. AKA a paraphrase of what Quentin Letts said on GMB the other day.
