You can hear the delight in Boris’s voice when the rabble gets going in parliament. He doesn’t give a shit about anything but his own ego.

derxa · 27/04/2022 12:18

Cornettoninja · 27/04/2022 11:46

But really Johnson and the Cabinet as a whole are fully responsible here

”let the bodies pile high”

It happened in Scotland too only worse. The NHS in Scotland is run by the Scottish Govt. I agree it's disgusting though.

ClaudineClare · 27/04/2022 12:24

the80sweregreat I am so sorry about your dad.

ClaudineClare · 27/04/2022 12:26

I had to switch PMQs off, it is unbearable. Johnson just doesn't give a shit about anyone but himself and his career.

I’m just going to leave this here

fullfact.org/economy/boris-johnson-makes-false-employment-claim-for-ninth-time-in-parliament/?utm_source=content_page&utm_medium=related_content

How is a Tory prime minister deflecting opposition points by referring to when they were in power - over a decade ago. It’s just weak.

I don’t want my prime minister obsessed with the actions of the opposition actions over a decade ago, I want them to concentrate on now and have actual answers to criticism of their policies.

And today makes 10

the80sweregreat I am so sorry about your dad.

Ahh, thank
You
He had been in care just over a year , he was 98 with dementia, but doing well until the first lockdown. Once we couldn't visit and then he caught covid , of course it was unlikely he would survive it ( although there were stories of people getting over it at his age of course )
I'm not blaming anyone , but making the points that the care homes were probably under pressure to take people in on the quick and the lack of ppe didn't help matters either I guess :(
It was such a distressing time for everyone

A while ago James O’Brien read out Boris’s CV of his time in number 10. I’d really like Starmer to do the same in parliament in answer to one of his blusters about Labours failings in power a decade ago that the tories have done nothing to rectify.

the80sweregreat · 27/04/2022 12:40

Thanks everyone !
It's been two years now but when I hear stories about the lockdowns etc it does bring it all back and how many people suffered and how badly some things were handled ( the furlough scheme , the ppe, the care homes etc)
It was tough for everyone I know

Roussette · 27/04/2022 12:42

80s

Oh gosh, hearing all this must bring it back big time. To lose someone during the early days of covid must've been so distressing.

I agree it was a really hard time @the80sweregreat, there’s still a lot of very tender wounds about. I hope your life is in a period of calm now Flowers

Notonthestairs · 27/04/2022 12:08

Apparently two separate instances of Tory MPs looking at porn whilst in Parliament - Steven Swinford reports on Twitter.

He has rectified that now to 'one Tory MP on more than one occasion'

Doesn't make it any better, especially if you read the experiences shared by female MPs.

DuncinToffee · 27/04/2022 12:48

And sorry to hear about your dad the80sweregreat

the80sweregreat · 27/04/2022 12:49

Ahh, thanks everyone
I know he was very old and had dementia, but dying during such a strange time in everyone's life was odd and he did try to fight it off for a few weeks , bless him.
I know it was much worse for other people too.
I can't believe we all lived through it to be honest

the80sweregreat · 27/04/2022 12:51

The porn thing is bad :(
I agree that any teachers or other public servants doing this would be dismissed straight away. What are they thinking?
Awful behavior

Blossomtoes · 27/04/2022 12:52

So sorry @the80sweregreat. 💐

There was a poster here a while ago who insisted all those care home deaths after the mass discharge from hospital was the fault of the care homes. Apparently they should have had crystal balls and stockpiled PPE. 🙄

I’m frankly bewildered by the posters who are prepared to throw us all under the bus because Johnson says he knows what a woman is. When the Tories show their misogyny at every turn. Wtf?

DuncinToffee · 27/04/2022 13:04

Politics Live, Jo Coburn ask Tory MP Brendan Clarke-Smith 'what's your reaction to a Tory MP being caught watching porn in the Chamber?'

His reaction "I can't even get a WiFi signal in the Chamber'

WTAF indeed!

Oh isn't he hilarious. The abuse and exploitation of women is such a joke.

Cornettoninja · 27/04/2022 13:15

I wonder how the news of a Tory MP watching porn in parliament will be received by women who threw their lot in with the tories a few weeks ago because Tories knew what a woman was. Is it worth it if it’s becoming increasingly apparent that that they know what a woman is because they’re the ones there for their sexual gratification.

Roussette · 27/04/2022 13:21

I agree. It's like a bad dream. And I think we forget how scary it all was in the beginning and we had no elderly parents still alive. I would've been terrified for them.

Exactly. I see it all over Twitter. Personally, I don't have those strong feelings about it. It's yet another divide isn't it. But how anyone thinks the Tories look after women, god alone knows. Boris threw out his remark as a vote catcher, that's all.
He has no sincerity about anything in my book

Totally.

The deflection bots are busy tweeting about "Durhamgate." It is pathetic.

You can't abuse and exploit women unless you know what they are, and this is very important.

That’s the most sensible and telling thing I’ve seen in this ridiculous debate. Do you mind if I borrow it @jgw1?

Borrow it by all means, but please try not to insult me by calling me sensible...
