Who's turned off their heating?

MayBeee · 22/04/2022 09:31

So the past two days have been sunny so we have turned off the central heating.
Today woke up to not so nice weather and it's currently 15 degrees indoors but due to costs are trying to go hard core ! Anyone else switched off yet ?

I think you need to ask MNHQ to correct your thread title! Grin

Hearing?

youngestisapsycho · 22/04/2022 09:33

I haven't had heating on since the end of Feb! Not been needed.

MayBeee · 22/04/2022 09:35

Yes I've asked for the change ( although if it gives a laugh ...... )

We had it completely off in March when it was warm but then it went cold again so it went on just for an hour or so boost in the morning. It’s been off again completely now for 9 days and hoping that’s it for summer. It’s 18 degrees in the house according to my thermostat and still chilly outside.

We are pretty minimal low temp heating users anyway 18.5/19 degrees.

BigSandyBalls2015 · 22/04/2022 09:38

15 degrees isn’t cold to me so I’d never put the heating on at that temperature. Never have it above 19/20 even when it’s freezing.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 22/04/2022 09:39

Yep mines off as off two weeks ago- extra blanket at bedtime for the time being. Perfectly fine though

Fooshufflewickjbannanapants · 22/04/2022 09:40

Turned ours off weeks ago. Favourite saying in ours is " put a jumper on!"

mum2jakie · 22/04/2022 09:41

Haven't needed the heating on for the last couple of weeks but would turn it on if needed. Luckily the sun is shining again here.

ClaudineClare · 22/04/2022 09:42

Have only had it on once in the past three weeks.

LadyCatStark · 22/04/2022 09:43

Switched it off on 1st April as can’t afford it anymore. At one point 2 weeks ago it was 11 degrees inside 😭.

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 22/04/2022 09:44

No I’ve not turned it off but it’s always thermostatically controlled so only kicks in when room temps drop below the pre-set temps. In spring/summer, those temps are rarely reached so it is effectively ‘off’ but if we have a chilly day or a cold snap, the heating will kick in.

Daphnedot · 22/04/2022 09:44

I have small twins and would do anything to turn off my hearing

MajorCarolDanvers · 22/04/2022 09:45

Still only 10C in my part of Scotland. My heating is usually on till June

TheChosenTwo · 22/04/2022 09:46

@Daphnedot 😂
Ours doesn’t get switched off, it’s thermostat controlled year round. If it drops below 22 in certain rooms it comes on, in other rooms it’s 20.

BishopBrennansArse · 22/04/2022 09:47

Yep I quite often pop the battery drawer on my hearing aids to switch them off...

DontyoulovemeDXB · 22/04/2022 09:48

Hmmmm yes, in the middle of January (we're in London)

Had it on for a couple of hours during a cold spell a few weeks back though.

TheLovleyChebbyMcGee · 22/04/2022 09:49

My toddler definitely has his hearing turned off!

But heating? Not yet, but this has reminded me to. We keep odd hours due to having a non-sleeping 17 week old, but I woke today absolutely roasting!!

emmathedilemma · 22/04/2022 09:50

I turned mine off over Easter weekend as i was away and the weather was warm but got up on Monday morning to it being 15 degrees in the living and that is too cold for me! I've turned it off a couple of times once it's warmed up but it's been cold overnight up here.

TwoBlueFish · 22/04/2022 09:53

Mine’s on a smart thermostat so only comes on if it goes below 18 in the day and below 12 at night. It’s only been coming on for about 30 minutes each morning recently.

nearlyspringyay · 22/04/2022 09:55

Ours has been off for a couple of weeks, hasn't been needed, in SE. If it gets cold I'll be turning it straight back on.

blinder · 22/04/2022 09:56

What I would give to be able to turn off my hearing (as long as I could turn it back on again!)

Auntieobem · 22/04/2022 09:57

Ours has been off for the past week or so. I'm working in dining room. Which gets the sun in the morning, so toasty.
