Who would be your dream prime minister?

For me it has to be jack monroe. She spends all her time showing people how to eat on a budget. Amazing thread this morning where she does a whole weeks worth of food for 37p a meal! Imagine if she was in government

David Olusoga would be bloody great too. People who pay heed to the patterns of history tend to make good decisions. Also, he is just... decent, and he knows what it is to grow up in difficult circumstances. We could do with some of that.

FairyCakeWings · 19/04/2022 13:54

I’d be happy with JK Rowling, and I’d hope she’d have David Attenborough, Stephen Fry, Martin Lewis and Ed Balls in her cabinet.

Jack Monroe is bloody awful.

TonyBlairsLover · 19/04/2022 13:56

Paul Joseph Watson or Jordan b Peterson

Winecheesesleep · 19/04/2022 13:56

@Matildatoldsuchdreadfullies

I’m struggling to see how JKR is a joke, when Jack Monroe is a serious suggestion.
Exactly! My vote is for JK Rowling too.

I do quite like Jack Monroe but I think she'd be the first to admit she isn't the most controlled person. High emotion and passion absolutely have their place but more at the campaigner level (which is important!) than running the country, which needs compromise and bringing people with you.

TheFairyCaravan · 19/04/2022 13:56

How can anyone who puts Jack Monroe forward as their dream PM, think JKR would be a joke? Hmm

Out of the current stock, Yvette Cooper would be my choice.

DoggoShark · 19/04/2022 13:58

Good to see all the JK Rowling love.

MissDollyMix · 19/04/2022 13:58

I’d quite like a shot at it! Reckon I could give it a fair go.
Other than that JKR would definitely get my vote. She’s an amazing woman.

FindingMeno · 19/04/2022 13:59

Jeremy Corbyn

Phoenixrising2020 · 19/04/2022 14:00

Jordan Peterson should ensure that the next generation of women lose whatever progress they've made.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 19/04/2022 14:01

@WildFlowerBees

JK Rowling
Yes!
flowerypillowcase · 19/04/2022 14:06

Jack Monroe makes disgusting looking and sounding food, is unhinged and very unkind on social media and that Vimes Boots Index she was shouting about has never seen the light of day. She shouts very loudly on social media but is mousy, unprofessional and nasal on TV.

WhereWasThatFrom · 19/04/2022 14:06

Martin Lewis. He says he doesn't 'do' politics but he is intelligent enough to know who listen to and who to trust. A lot of politicians are shameful ignorant about politics especially world politics, finance and just about everything else plus they are arrogant and stupid enough not to realise it. If Martin Lewis doesn't know something he has no qualms about saying so.

Wouldn't it be amazing to have a prime minister who didn't put his own interests and own ego first and who is highly intelligent.

WhereWasThatFrom · 19/04/2022 14:07

Are people suggesting Jack Monroe being serious 😕

MiniatureHotdog · 19/04/2022 14:09

JKR. Fearless, intelligent, charitable, and stands for women's rights Flowers

MummyJ12 · 19/04/2022 14:10

Andy Burnham.

Very persuasive. I still want JK for PM but would pick Martin as Chancellor, he'd be amazing.
MatildaJayne · 19/04/2022 14:12

John Smith. The best Prime Minister we never had.

Or Andy Burnham.

ElenaSt · 19/04/2022 14:13

Jim Davidson would be my second vote.

1forAll74 · 19/04/2022 14:18

Hugh Edwards

WildFlowerBees · 19/04/2022 14:21

When you said dream PM op I assumed because all those currently in government are woefully ignorant sat in their gilded cages you meant anyone other than them.

Inchail · 19/04/2022 14:27

Exactly!

I quite like some of these - JKR, Corbyn, John Smith

Lesperance · 19/04/2022 14:27

Anybody who thinks that John Major was very moral needs to google Edwina Currie.

Quite. Jack Monroe is the biggest self-publicist drama llama we've ever had. Can you imagine? The tantrums and strops on Twitter when she/he/they (whatever the clickbait choice and spamming of social media about it is this week) weren't getting their own way. Spare us that.

I sadly can't think of any current politician who is my kind of politician. Dennis Skinner is ancient and lost his seat anyway. Last of the giants.

Might have to be James Blunt as long as he promises not to sing.

tara66 · 19/04/2022 14:29

Not a labour voter but I think the country missed out on David Miliband.
A young David Attenborough?

PAFMO · 19/04/2022 14:30

Sadly I think so. She's done a number on so many. And manages to get all the unsavoury truth about her motives and behaviour deleted/cancelled under the guise of being whatever -ist she decides she's the victim of on any particular day.
